It’s a Chick Mom Life for Me

I’m a Mom to three girls…
Our life as a house of women is sealed. We’ve even got the girl cat to boot.
And, since the proverbial “shop” is closed for any future child bearing….you know, because that whole Momo Twin thing and six year-old drama is enough for me…
My husband is officially Tim Allen in Last Man Standing….
I only hope the whole pregnant teen daughter part doesn’t happen….
but I digress.
So with all that in mind, we Mama’s of chickadees need to stick together no?
So, I’m starting something new here on Moments that Define Life.
Copying, if you will. (Because sometimes a good idea, is just a good idea!)
You see when I attended BlogHer this past August I happened to room with none other than the awesome Amanda from Parenting by Dummies.
We hit it off and bonded through our mutual adoration of rap music.
What?
We’re Gangsta Yo!
One day, as we attempted to walk in the heels everyone told us NOT to wear in their “What to Wear at BlogHer” posts, we distracted ourselves from the pain and blisters with discussion of how we both were raising outstanding kids…(you know if you we do say-so ourselves).. and how we really wanted to not mess that whole raising boys/raising girls thing up.
We talked about how we’d love to find other Moms to share our journey with because it really is unique to be raising only girls or in Amanda’s case, raising all boys…because we’re deep and stuff.
So, Amanda is totally awesome and completely on-top of her game and has been having tons of fun over at Parenting by Dummies featuring and sharing other Dude Moms, so I thought we should expand on our BlogHer conversation and begged her to let me join in suggested that we co-host a Dude Mom Life/Chick Mom Life Meme.
And since we’re Blogging Besties she obliged my request to join in on the fun.
So, here’s how it works Mama’s of Chicks. You must be a Mom of all chickadees to jump in on this particular fun here at Moments that Define Life. Submit a photo to me that captures what it means to live the “Chick Mom Life” and write a short caption that begins with, “A Chick Mom Life is…__________” (You fill in the blank!)
You will then be added into the queue for Chick Mom Monday which will coincide with Dude Mom Mondays over at Parenting by Dummies so we can share the awesome that is being a mom to all girls while Amanda shares the awesome that is raising all boys at her place.

Don’t forget to hunt down that fabulous picture of you with your beautiful girl(s) and get it sent my way (MTDLBlog@yahoo.com)….because we’re going to need each other when the estrogen takes over our homes during the teen years….and for those of you already in the teen years…you are going to be our resource for sanity and suggestions….OR you’ll just be required to send us wine because a house full of girls going through the teen years around the same time demands it.

I’m the mom of just one girl – only a month old tomorrow. I’m scared but excited for all the craziness yet to come. I absolutely love this idea. I know boys have their moments, but nothing is as scary to me as the thought of someday having a teenage girl running around.
