Safeco Field

Welcome to the gorgeous Safeco Field in Seattle, an amazing stadium with a retractable roof!

My family are die hard Yankees fans, but find ourselves marooned on the West Coast smack in the middle of Giants and Mariners territory. Imagine our excitement this past Memorial Day when we scored tickets to the Mariners/Yankees game in Seattle!

We planned the 8 hour drive, hotel for our family of 5 and plenty of site-seeing in Seattle. (Yes of course we topped the Space Needle and rubbed the snout of dear old Rachel the Pig.) But we kept focused on our real goal… to watch a major league baseball game in the amazing Safeco Field. Priorities people!

The game began and we were having a blast, it was the first major league game for my little League of 3 kids—we were determined to enjoy every second of it! And we did. From cotton candy to chocolate dipped strawberries and Ivor’s famous Clam Chowder, we ate our way through the 7th inning. Despite the Yankees trailing , we didn’t care. All was right in our baseball world…

Until..

Idiot fans began running onto the field! The first one we laughed at and figured, wow, too much stadium beer? But the SECOND idiot to jump onto the field and get himself tackled seemed a bit crazy and a bit copy cat.

And then, get this, the THIRD dude hops onto the field completely buck naked. (I wish I were kidding.)

Who knew baseball could be rated R!?

Forget sleepless in Seattle, this was a STREAKER in Seattle!

Lucky for my husband and my little boy, they had just left for a bathroom break, however the girls and I were shocked and doing our best not to look at the pile of security officers tackling Mr. Full Monty.

Talk about a memorable first trip to the big leagues! Here’s to another chance to see a game (rated PG this time please.) Go Yankees!
