BE IN THE KNOW AND GET THE MOST FROM WHERE YOU LIVE.

Launched in January 2011, Seattleite is the lifestyle news site for Seattle’s young professionals who are in-the-know and on-the-go. With a pulse on the latest in dining, travel, fashion, entertainment, events and more, Seattleite is the premiere lifestyle resource to deliver the latest news and happenings around the city, showcasing the best that the Puget Sound region and the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Seattleite helps savvy Seattleites get the most from where they live.

Meet the Team!

spacer Jane Yuan, Chief Seattleite | Born and raised in Seattle, Jane received her BA in Communications with an emphasis in Print Journalism from University of Washington. She has worked with various news outlets like CBS News-48 Hours in New York, NBC and FOX affiliates in Seattle, E! Entertainment in Los Angeles, and CNN affiliate in Taipei (ETTV). In addition, Jane has worked in television production with Endemol USA, talent management for Usher, and talent PR for Prince and Oscar de la Hoya. All of her experience led her to a successful career as a publicist in Los Angeles, but her love for her hometown brought her back — with a desire to highlight all the best that her favorite city had to offer and a passion to celebrate Seattle and Seattleites.

spacer Nicole Logan, Events+Buzz Master | Nicole graduated from WSU and pursued a career in events and media where she traveled all around the U.S. and Canada.  When she landed back home, Nicole continued her drive in events and creating social media buzz and founded her own marketing consulting company and built a social media powerhouse, guiding people on the hottest events, trendiest restaurants, hotels and lounges. With Nicole’s influential social media voice and creative writing talent, she has contributed to Citysearch, The Puget Hound and SeattleTravel.com.  Her love for lifestyle, social culture, and the NW has led her to join the innovative and like-minded team at Seattleite.

spacer Ashley Genevieve, Photo Ace | Hawaiian raised, Brooks graduate, world wide experienced photographer, now taking a bite out of Seattle’s creative scene. Her commercial advertising and fashion photography background molded from Brooks Institute of Photography has encouraged Ashley to explore the world as a shooter, art director, producer and networking extraordinaire. With a passion for locals and making everything look hot, she continues shooting as well as advising over the look and imagery of Seattleite as our Senior Photo Editor. Explore her skillz.

SEATTLEITE COLUMNISTS:

spacer Joey Aubert, Entertainment Guru | Entertaining the Masses | Born and raised in Washington, Joey recieved his degree in English from Central Washington University. He was a DJ and a music director at his college radio station, making him an expert in music, and is an aspiring stand up comedian, making him an expert in everything else. He is currently employed by a local aeronautics company, Boeing. He enjoys football (real and fantasy), rock and roll, gangster movies, snowboarding, and making people laugh. He is currently the drummer for the Ellensburg-based garage-rockabilly band The Whereabouts. Follow him on Twitter. (We Are The 99%)

spacer Bridget Blake, Restaurant Hopper | Dine on a Dime | Despite being an Arizona native, Bridget’s heart is in the Pac NW. She’s a graduate of the Univ. of Oregon’s School of Journalism and recently moved to Seattle to pursue her passions: writing, food, wine and music. She has written for women’s and philanthropy magazines in Scottsdale as well as the Univ. of Oregon’s newspaper, the Daily Emerald. She is currently a news assistant with a local television station and when she’s not cooking, sipping red wine or buried in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, you can find her outside enjoying a rare sunny day in Seattle or laughing with friends. Her motto is the great e.e. cummings quote, “the most wasted of days is one without laughter.” Keep up with her Seattle adventures and daily awkward moments, follow her @bridgetblake1!

spacer Lindsay Thurston Bradley, Fashion Expert | Style File |  Hi, I’m Lindsay, a former merchandising maven turned fashion obsessed style blogger.  By day I teach life lessons in the second grade and by night I troll my local record store for dusty old LPs, and paw my computer in search of vintage 60s dresses and colorful hosiery.  I shop Barney’s, Value Village, and everywhere in between, and pride myself on a creative mix of high and low style solutions for my modern life.  I share a tiny, packed closet with my lovely husband on Capitol Hill and often find my cats snoozing in my sock drawer.  For more on my personal style and adventures, please visit me on my blog, Lindsay Living.

spacer Ian Dinsmore, Movie Buff | In Technicolor | Growing up near the beautiful Puget Sound in Olympia, Ian is a true Northwesterner.  Since graduating from the Edward R. Murrow School of Journalism at Washington State University, Ian jettisoned the Palouse for wild times in the big city.  A year after graduating from Seattle Film Institute, he immersed himself in the Seattle indie film culture.  His study of film continues and if you’re lucky, you can catch him at Crystal Mountain, at the movie theater or walking his dog Blue in Kirkland with his beautiful wife.

spacer John Ferensen, Tech King | Technophilia | A life-long Seattleite, John credits his discerning palette to an extraordinary experience working with a great food critic in Seattle. His tastes morphed into liquid form, and he now searches high and low for Seattle’s best cocktails. Armed with a journalism degree from Washington State University, John isn’t limited to just tasty delights; his expertise includes pop culture, fashion, night life and the driving tendencies of Seattle motorists. Even though he can be found every Monday night planted on the couch watching Gossip Girl, he still considers Omar Little to be the greatest character in TV history, and has watched The Wire four times through. His one wish in life is to have an NBA team back in Seattle. For more of John, follow him on Twitter.

spacer Abbie Glick, Music Maven | Music Madness | Abbie has had an obsession with both magazines and music – devouring Girl’s Life and belting out The Little Mermaid tunes – from a very young age. Now, as writer, she strives to combine her love of magazines and music into one big delicious hybrid. Graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in Creative and Technical Writing, she has written for What’s Up! Magazine, and enjoys all types of creative expression, from music to photography to graphic design. You can usually find her blogging at the red-lipped smirk, sipping wine, getting distracted by anything sparkly, pouring over music and fashion blogs, and (still) occasionally belting out random Disney songs.

spacer Jon Meyer, Food + Travel Aficionado | Happenin’ Happy Hour| Ever since Jon was born in Ellensburg, WA, he’s been eating. Now 27 and fully grown, food has transitioned away from sustenance to more of a passion. Years in the fine dining world and countless hours watching Top Chef have left him spoiled and wanting more — some kind of curse. But he’s happy living through that curse as Seattleite’s food aficionado. Pick up a copy of Jon’s book, Mustache May, or read his Seattle PI blog, The Belltown Blocks.

spacer Taylor Moore, Cool Curator | The Radar | Born in Farmville, Virginia (much cooler than the Facebook game), but raised in Olympia, Taylor graduated from University of Washington with a B.A in Communications and Sociology. She’s a major foodie and loves trying new restaurants and new food,  and is also passionate about traveling the globe — just like her idol, Anthony Bourdain. When she’s not writing, eating, lustfully wandering Nordstrom or J. Crew, or looking up cat videos on YouTube, you might find Taylor jet-setting around to sunnier skies whenever she gets the opportunity.

spacer Linda Miller Nicholson, Foodie Fashionista | Sexy Food | Hi, I’m Linda and I’m a Stiletto Ninja turned Foodie Fashionista. I’m the kitschy madwoman behind the blog Salty Seattle. My interests include cooking in Louboutins and wearing dresses made of sashimi. Some say my creative writing degree qualifies me to make pretty word pictures, but the jury is still out. Hyper-modern gastronomy makes my test tubes bubbleth over like a pent-up Catholic schoolgirl in the Sounders locker room. I dig sustainability, farm-to-table, and I constantly cook sous vide. I’ve been called everything from the Timothy Leary to the Lady Gaga of food by various national media sources. I take those comparisons to heart

spacer Mary Ann Rozance, Travel Fiend | Get Out & Go | Born outside with a passion for adventure, Mary Ann had her first wilderness excursion at eight months old. Ever since then, this native Californian has been tromping through forests, mountains and deserts here in the PNW and all over the world. With both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in forest resources, she works with environmental organizations engaging communities to better manage their resources. Mary Ann has lived and traveled in many corners of the world including, Canada, Spain, Morocco, Nepal, India, China, Iceland, South Korea, all over Europe, and yes — even North Korea. She loves telling stories and writing about her hair-brained travels.

spacer Erin Thomas, Wine Aficionado | Forks + Corks | Exported from the once rural areas north of the  city, Erin has always been a Seattleite at heart. Since receiving her degree in Journalism  from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at WSU, she has been  moonlighting as a freelance writer. Familiar stints include CitySearch Seattle,  Washington State Magazine, Seattle Woman Magazine and her long-time contributing  to WINO Magazine, as well as copy-writing and on-air contributions to local radio. When Erin’s not consuming large amounts of wine or writing in her blog,abottle/aweek, she can be found eating most food put in front of her face, screaming for the Cougs or drooling over the brothers on Vampire Diaries. For more of Erin’s daily, irrelevant ramblings, find her on Twitter.

You can see more of her work online or follow her blog.

As a self taught photog Chris’ photojournalist pursuit of the natural has led him to be published in multiple publications to include a piece in National Geographic.

spacer Lena Park, Contributor| Born in Buffalo, raised in Federal Way, and educated at Boston College, Lena has been exploring cities from coast to coast her whole life.  Though she desperately misses the snarky irreverence of Bostonians, she loves living in this green and rainy city again as a bona fide Seattleite.  In the years that she’s been gone from the Pacific Northwest, Lena has been busy writing for sports blogs, literary journals, college newspapers, and social justice-based magazines.  When she’s not hunting for a hole-in-the-wall neighborhood joint, furiously scribbling in her notebook, or busy clacking away at her computer, Lena finds Zen in playing baseball with the Seattle Diamonds, sipping on a PBR at Lottie’s, and watching reruns of Friday Night Lights while drooling over sinfully delicious Tim Riggins.

spacer Kiera Scholten, Contributor | A Southern California girl turned      Seattleite, Kiera has called the Emerald City home since 2008.  She has a bachelor of  arts in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in English from Pepperdine University  in Malibu. When she’s not writing or producing TV news, she’s traveling, listening to  good music, appreciating art, shopping and exploring the gorgeous outdoors with her  toy poodle, Leo. Follow Kiera on Twitter.

spacer Kara Tiernan, Contributor | Kara was born and raised in West Seattle, is a diehard Washington State Alum and proud lefty. Kara has lived in Florence, Philadelphia and Portland but was magnetized back to home plate. Kara loves the outdoors, participated in the Seattle Rock and Roll half marathon last spring — and plans on going for round two in June. She is a passionate reader and blogger, is inspired by the Oregon coast and would be thrilled if spandex made a comeback. But, mainly, she believes there is nothing better than a bottle of house red, acoustic music and loud laughter shared between best friends.

spacer Christie Vandyke, Contributor | Christie is a writer and the creator of offthebeatenpad.com where she humorously chronicles her experiences and observations. She spent many years working as a Project Manager before setting off on a journey to spend some time pursuing her passion for writing and bringing a little humor to people’s days. Christie hails from Michigan and has lived in Seattle since 2003. She enjoys the city life, cooking and all things wine, delighting in the abundance of wineries Washington State has to offer.
