spacer About Diana

Diana Kuan is a food writer and cooking instructor who is currently working on a Chinese cookbook for Random House/Ballantine. She grew up watching her family run Chinese restaurants and bakeries in Puerto Rico and suburban Massachusetts. After finishing a culinary arts degree in New York and working in a pastry kitchen, she packed her bags and spent two years in China, where she taught cooking classes to travelers and expats and began the popular food blog Appetite for China (AppetiteforChina.com).

She has appeared on โ€œThe CBS Early Showโ€ and WNYC radio in food and travel segments. Her writing on food and travel has appeared in The Boston Globe, Gourmet, Food & Wine, Time Out New York, and US Airways magazine. Now back in New York, she continues to publish Appetite for China while teaching cooking classes at Whole Foods and The Institute of Culinary Education.
