A word from Dr. John C. Cranham and his staff:

Dr. Cranham graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University/ Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, with honors, in 1988. He is a member of the Virginia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as many different educational study groups. Also, Dr. Cranham lectures extensively across the world to other dentists on a variety of contemporary dental topics.

Dr. Cranham is recognized among his peers and in the community for his ability to provide the latest techniques in dentistry using the latest equipment and materials available. He is truly an artist at creating and preserving beautiful smiles.

Sarah Alexander – Office Administrator / New Patient Coordinator

Sarah graduated from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, Va. In 1998, she received her certificate in dental assisting from Old Dominion University. Sarah assisted chair side for many years but found true fulfillment working in the administrative aspect of the dental field. She became part of our team in 2008. Her clinical background enhances her ability to care for our patients scheduling and information needs. She lives in Chesapeake with her husband and daughters.

Kelly N. Brown – Registered Dental Hygienist

Kelly graduated from Lakeland High School in Suffolk, VA. While in high school, she began working as a dental assistant. She obtained her associates degree in science from Tidewater Community College, then graduated from Old Dominion University with a BS in dental hygiene. Before joining our team in 2004, Kelly worked as an oral surgical assistant in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake and as a hygienist in a private practice in Virginia Beach. Her postgraduate training includes the Coaching Program’s Breakthrough Seminar, the Dale Carnegie Program, the Dawson Academy’s Seminar II and the Hygienists’ Role in Supporting Complete Dentistry. Kelly resides in Chesapeake. Aside from dentistry, she enjoys being with family and friends, reading, and spending quality time with her long haired miniature dachshund, Diggy. Her true passion is helping patients obtain a healthy smile.

Anne Ellison – Dental Assitant

Anne graduated from High School in Glasgow Scotland and received her National Certificate for Dental Assisting in 1993 from Coatbridge College in Scotland, and her Radiation Safely Certificate from O.D.U in 1996. Anne has been a chair side assistant for more than 10 years. Her experience includes several years with Sedation Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry and General Dentistry. Since being with us, she has attended several seminars/courses including the latest Invisalign course at the Virginia Dental Association in Williamsburg, Virginia. She also worked for two years in administration at Bay View Dental Lab. Anne enjoys spending her weekends with her husband watching their children play sports. Her daughter plays softball and her son plays football.

Kristen Cox – Dental Chairside Assistant

Kristen graduated from Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, VA in 2001. She began her dental assisting career in 2006. After working in a general dentistry practice she then furthered her career by moving to a specialty practice. For the past 4 years Kristen assisted in an Endodontic practice in Virginia Beach. In 2011 she joined our practice as a chairside assistant. Since being with us, she has attended several seminars/courses including the latest Invisalign course at the Virginia Dental Association in Williamsburg, Virginia. Kristen lives in Virginia Beach with her new husband and miniature pinscher, Chico. Aside from dentistry Kristen enjoys the beach, spending time with family and friends, and working out at the gym.

Cynthia Wilson – Front Desk Coordinator

Cynthia graduated from Salem High School in Virginia Beach. She then went on to receive her associates degree in Business Administration at Tidewater Community College then continued her education at Old Dominion University where she then received a BS in Communication in 2009.

Cynthia has worked in the dental field for the past three years and before joining our team in October 2011 she worked at a local orthodontic office where she was a scheduling coordinator. She is excited to be a part of the team and is looking forward to furthering her career as well as applying her Communication skills in the administrative branch of our practice.

Cynthia lives in Virginia Beach with her fiancé and their dog Jax, while planning for the big day in May 2012.
