Feb 23 Event: The Internet and IP Rights Enforcement: What is the Current Landscape and What May the Future Hold?

Recently, a vast outcry from the internet community (and many in the general public) halted the Stop Online Privacy Act, or SOPA, in what has been hailed as a victory for an open internet. But SOPA is not the only legislation raising serious concerns.

Learn about these proposed laws and many other areas of Intellectual Property law from the experts. PANMA has assembled a panel of lawyers to inform you about these important issues. Details coming soon, so save the date: February 23.

Jan 26th event: Adobe and HTML5- The next generation of tools

In the past few months, there has been a number of new tools and new services from Adobe for HTML5. Some of these tools, like PhoneGap Build and jQuery contributions are aimed at developers and some, such as Edge, are more focused on designers. Adobe Evangelist Terry Ryan will give an overview and demos of these and other tools.

Demystifying Games & ARG’s for Learning 6/30

Whether you are new to games or want to discover how they can be used for learning you won’t want to miss the PANMA session to get the latest information. This session is for anyone in education, corporate or looking for new innovative ways to get your audience to participate and learn. We’re lucky to have Koreen Olbrish from Tandem Learning to share her knowledge and experience with you. Tandem Learning has been at the forefront of immersive learning strategies and applying game dynamics to educational projects. Koreen will share the latest trends in serious game design, including 3D immersive games and alternate reality games (ARGs), and how these design techniques can increase engagement and facilitate learning. For those new to serious games, Koreen will provide an overview of why games are great for learning, when games should be considered, and the basics of different types of serious game design. Case studies of corporate learning implementations of games will also be reviewed.

Stephen Parry is a World leading authority and strategist on the creation of Lean Service Enterprises. He has applied ‘Lean’ principles to the design and operation of corporations in Europe, Middle- East, Asia-Pacific, (including Japan, India, Australia, Philippines ) and the USA. An inspirational leader with a documented professional history of achievement, a motivational key note speaker on large scale organizational change.

He is author of the book, “Sense and Respond: the journey to customer purpose”, which presents an approach to business based on Lean Service Principles. Clients include many global corporations and national governments: SAP, BT, UK government, police authorities, financial services, IT Services, Shared Services, and Outsourcing.

Stephen speaks regularly at international events and respected business schools such as Cranfield School of Management, the Fisher Business School at Ohio State University.  He is a Faculty Member of the USA Lean Enterprise Institute, visiting Fellow at the Professor Dan Jones Lean Enterprise Academy in the UK and a regular judge at the national business awards.

April 26th Event: PANMA Supporting Technically Philly’s Switch Philly

In lieu of running an April event, PANMA will be supporting Technically Philly’s “Switch Philly” event during Philly Tech Week. It will be hosted at The Wharton School, but this time, we’re getting the big auditorium. Details, and a special discount rate are included below:

Get inspired by Philly startups at Switch Philly, an event on April 26th at 6pm hosted by tech news blog Technically Philly and one of the signature events during Philly Tech Week.
At Switch 5 Philly companies will demo their latest and greatest for 7 minutes each.
