An Outing to Eat The Famous ‘Soul Burger’

My father and I share a real enthusiasm for the wonderful magazine, Garden & Gun. This month’s edition features an article with a listing of the “Top 50 Bars in the South”. Memphis’ own, Earnestine and Hazel’s and, their famous “Soul Burger” made the list. Since my parents were in town last weekend…our curiousity got the best of us and, we made our way to downtown Memphis to locate this burger. Wow! The trip was well worth it! We enjoyed the burger and, I am already craving another one! Purchase a current issue of this great publication and see if there are any of the famous spots near your area. Better yet? Come to Memphis and visit Earnestine and Hazel’s..the juke box and the rustic atmosphere put you right at home. Look at my boys (above) enjoying the juke box tunes!

A 7-Year Old Birthday Party – Animal Mania!

This has been such a fun day! We celebrated my daughter’s 7th birthday at the Memphis Zoo. She invited the girls in her first grade class, and, a few girls from church. She adores animals and, so, the zoo turned out to be the perfect spot! The best part of the party? The zoo workers brought in a few animals for the girls to actually pet…what a hit! The girls dined on fried chicken strips, fresh fruit and, chocolate cupcakes, a great afternoon! I am so thankful and blessed that my dear parents drove all the way from the coast of Texas, (Lake Jackson, TX), to attend the party. My dear Mom painted the girl’s faces. Thanks “Nana”!!!!
