spacer Oncology Rehabilitation Specialists is an outpatient physical therapy clinic dedicated solely to the physical rehabilitation of people with cancer-related or lymphedema-related problems. Located in Bellevue, WA, it was established in 2003 under the name of Sound Therapeutics by physical therapist and certified lymphedema therapist Carol Eddy, MPT. Her vision was to create a warm, comfortable and welcoming environment for cancer survivors, and people spacer with lymphedema, to receive compassionate and competent assistance through their physical recovery. spacer The clinic is designed with the specific needs of our clientele in mind, including a quite and comfortable reception area, a complete private gym, and specially decorated treatment rooms to enhance comfort and privacy.

spacer Carol Eddy, MPT

Carol is the owner and manager of Oncology Rehabilitation Specialists. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1999. Right after graduation, she received her initial oncology and lymphedema training under the tutelage and mentorship of Seattle expert Marisa Perdomo, PT, then pursued lymphedema certification through Klose-Norton Training and Consulting in 2003. Prior to opening her own clinic, she worked as a physical therapist in outpatient orthopedics as well as oncology and lymphedema rehabilitation. She has been a lecturer and support group facilitator for Cancer Lifeline and has spoken on lymphedema at Team Survivor Northwest annual retreats, at various breast cancer support groups, and at the University of Washington annual nursing conference. She has also taught exercise classes for cancer survivors through Team Survivor Northwest, and currently serves on their medical advisory committee.

Carol grew up in San Diego, CA, and earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature from UCLA in 1991. During her time in Los Angeles, she trained in classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance, and had the opportunity to work for a short time as a professional jazz and contemporary dancer. Currently, in her spare time, Carol enjoys travel, scuba diving, learning to speak Spanish, and salsa dancing.

spacer Kathleen “Kay” Compher, PT

Kay received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1994. Initially Kay’s physical therapy career specialized in neurological rehabilitation for individuals with diagnoses like stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. She also worked in outpatient physical therapy settings providing orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. In 2008, Kay went to the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy, and earned her certificate in lymphedema therapy. Kay joined Carol at Sound Therapeutics in February 2008, and has been treating individuals with lymphedema and oncological rehabilitation needs since that time.

In her free time, Kay loves to spend time with her husband, son and dogs. As a family, they tend to their gardens, travel, visit with family and friends, and compete with their dogs in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. When she gets a chance, Kay likes to read, cook, bake, and try new recipes.
