Why answering Why is the most important part to get right first!

Why ask Why?

Because if you don’t know the why of a thing the how doesn’t matter.

If you are doing something because you are seeing other people doing it, what is the point?

It’s kinda like the jumping off the bridge because everyone else is doing it, and that doesn’t make sense at all.

So…

Why is why so important?

If you can tell yourself the reason why you are doing something and even tell others why too; then when you look for the how it will be a whole lot easier to stay the course when you find the answers.

People get the Why and the How backwards.

People get the reasons for doing anything back to front, and they do this because the trouble with answering why is that it can be very hard to do. It tends to be a whole lot easier just following the rest of the how to do it crowd.

Why requires thought, and how requires effort.

Why is the hardest work in the world, because it is all about the thinking of things through and reasoning behind that thinking.

Most people want to buy how from a product, goods or a service and they think this will serve them and get them what they want.

But…

What is it that they want?

And…

Why do they want it?

Awh nawh! now we are back to the Why thingy again.

So I ask you this question.

Why are you doing what you are doing?

Can you answer that?

Do your actions stem from that answer?

If not why not?

        The why trap…

        • Social-Tango.com Billy Delaney

What is that? Never heard of it.
For me, Why answers to the reason of purpose. No purpose to what you are doing means the How you do anything matters for naught.

    Hey Billy,

Glad I’ve finally got round to stopping by! Awesome blog by the way. The “why” seems to be a current theme on a number of blogs, but it is certainly one of the most important questions one can ask. I like what you said about getting the “Hows” and the “Whys” mixed up. Lots of people don’t have any real strategy behind their blog. They’ve got to know where they are heading, even though the journey there will always be unpredictable (the fun part!)

      Hello Robert.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Indeed, The Why’s and the How’s are key and so is the order they come in.
Look back here in a day or two and I will be posting the second part on the How’s.
These two pieces are so connected and usually back-to-front that it becomes impossible to get the results everyone is craving.

Thanks for stopping by and I do appreciate you putting me into your paper. This blog was an experiment for my first year in blogging, and I liked it a lot. This next year I am opening the doors to a small business consulting, training and products effort. It will have a blog about that, and this will stay as my social voice about the things I see, hear and want to point at: for good or not!

Why is the ONLY question you need to be 110% certain about.

The rest follows. Yes, we get bogged down in the HOW – it’s much easier said than done though to understand your WHY … My why is simple – I want to debunk popular belief about marketing online and cut the jargon … how? Well, I hope I’m on the right track so far spacer
