Goshen College's WGCS receives most nominations for college radio awards February 8, 2012

    The Intercollegiate Broadcasting System has announced the national finalists for its 2012 college radio awards, and Goshen College's radio station, 91.1 The Globe (WGCS-FM), is one of 26 colleges and universities to have finalists named in the competition. Winners will be announced at the 72nd Annual IBS Conference in New York City, March 2-4.

Three Goshen College students' 'This I Believe' essays aired February 2, 2012

    GOSHEN, Ind. The public radio station in Elkhart, Ind., WVPE-88.1 FM (www.wvpe.org), again selected essays by three Goshen College students, and aired them between Jan. 10-24 on the "This I Believe" segment of its program. This is the sixth year that WVPE and Goshen College Communication Department have collaborated on this popular project.

    Goshen College has been named one of the top 200 best values in private colleges by Kiplinger's Personal Finance. The magazinerecently announced the top private universities and liberal arts colleges that combine outstanding quality with affordability. This year, Goshen College was ranked 80th among liberal arts colleges.

Professor James S. Miller remembered with love and appreciation for his three decades of service to Goshen College October 19, 2011

    Members of the Goshen College community reacted with shock, disbelief and sorrow when they learned about the homicide of Professor of Biology James S. Miller. Since then, a candlelight vigil and convocation on campus and visitations and two church services have helped students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends cope with the tragic death and given them a deeper appreciation for Professor Miller's many contributions to Goshen College.

    The annual college rankings have hit the presses, and Goshen College was again included by "U.S. News & World Report," "Forbes" and "Washington Monthly" publications on their lists of best U.S. colleges. It was also again named a "College of Distinction."
