spacer Hi! I am a former Behavior Specialist and Special Education Teacher now raising two toddlers. Creating is necessary for my sanity and to keep peace in our little ol’ Texas home.

I also run Little Andalucia, a place where  I sell patterns, fabric,  and other items if you want to check it out.

I believe it is important for artistic folks to have a voice and a place to share inspiration and wisdom. Artful Rising is that place.

My top 20 delicious secrets:

1. I have curly hair. Frizzy. I got tired of paying for it to be straightened. Besides, it stunk afterward for what seemed like a month.

2. I played basketball in my youth. Ironic since I was and still am only 5’2″. In fact, I am probably shorter now.

3. I am accident prone. I have scars on my leg, face, and hands to prove it.

4. It grosses me out to see hair anywhere other than the top of the head. And I don’t mean the toilet.

5. When I was pregnant with my first I called a stroller a pacifier.

6. I remember crazy details about people but never their name.

7. I am convinced that some of my dreams come true.

8. Boys found me intimidating in graduate school.

9. I love my husband. Nerdy, uber organized self and all.

10. I’ve been on numerous cruises, swimming with dolphins in Hawaii and Honduras and I am terrified of water.

11. I am also scared of heights.

12. But I get a rush from flying.

13. My mom drives me nuts but I want to talk to her several times a week.

14. I begged my parents for a rocking chair while in college. I still don’t care that it is not cool.

15. I still have the books I bought when I was in elementary school. Hoarders came by but they could not find me; I was lost in a book.

16. I am allergic to cats but the neighborhood cat follows me everywhere. And waits for me in the driveway.

17. No matter how many speeches or presentations I have given I still get butterflies. And sweaty.

18. I can watch the NFL Draft and then the Royal Wedding. And be mesmerized by both.

19. I love to write.

20. I like pizza for breakfast.
