Hi there, I’m Christi. Welcome to Love From The Oven!
A little about me… I LOVE to bake. I HATE to cook. This works out great for dessert, but not so well for dinner. I’ve accepted it though. In fact, I’ve embraced it. And I have the pizzeria on speed dial. I love baking for others for gifts – be it for holidays, birthdays or just because and I love to bake using the recipes of my grandmothers and great-grandmothers. There is something so wonderful to me about holding on to, and carrying on their recipes. When I bake, I bake with LOVE. And butter. And sprinkles.
I have two sweet daughters who make my world go round.
Most of the professional photos of my family are from Meggan Jacks Photography. She is an amazing maternity, newborn, child & family photographer in Phoenix, Arizona. I can’t recommend her highly enough – she’s phenomenal!
I Am A… Mommy, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, Chocolate Covered Pretzel Maker And Dance Mom. I’ve lived in Phoenix, Arizona my entire life, and no, I do not like the heat. Prior to this mom gig, I had a variety of jobs… Marriage & Family Therapist, Jewelry Designer, Cultural Exchange Coordinator, Journalist, Social Behavioral Researcher… I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. I write about life outside of the kitchen at Away From The Oven.
Things I Love…
My amazing daughters, my fabulous friends and family, Open Adoption, Diet Coke, photography, watching my daughter dance, baking for friends and family, my iPhone & iPad, music, fries with ranch dressing, rainy days, a big fluffy feather pillow at the end of the day, broken in jeans, Dairy Queen Caramel Chocolate Chip Blizzards, 80′s hair bands, frozen margaritas with lots of salt, Bravo shows on my DVR, decorating for the holidays, riding The Nightmare Before Christmas version of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, Amazon Prime, The Melting Pot, dark chocolate covered walnuts from See’s Candies, sarcasm, my cocker spaniel Milo & shih tzu Jack, sleeping in (or at least the memory of it), Facebook, the color pink, Marc Jacobs handbags and my husband doing the dishes.
I’m often asked what kind of camera I have. I have a Canon EOS 50D and use a variety of lenses. One that I highly recommend, especially to those who are new to using a DSLR, is the Canon 50mm f/1.8. It’s a great lens for the price. I edit my photos in Adobe Photoshop CS5. My best advice for photos? Turn off your flash, and take a LOT of pictures.
Have a question? Want to say hi? Here’s where to find me!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there Christi!
My name is Steve Walters and I recently started blogging at www.eatingbangkok.com, which is currently being updated with recipes, but in the next few months will be my vehicle for covering the food and restaurant scene in Bangkok Thailand.
I am now in the process of meeting as many food bloggers as I can and I found your site www.lovefromtheoven.comS recently and was pretty impressed. I’ve added your site to my Foodie Blogs list here: www.eatingbangkok.com/foodie-blogs/ and would also like to add you to my blogroll.
If you could add my site to your blogroll and write back to let me know it has been added I will add you to mine as well and the exchange would be greatly appreciated!
As you might imagine I am very excited to get moved to Bangkok and get started on covering the food scene there as I feel it is an area that isn’t well covered by English speaking bloggers. I plan on adding loads of great reviews, pictures and even video and will be holding contests as well. It should be fun, entertaining and informative for everyone that visits.
Thank you so much in advance for adding me to your blogroll and I look forward to reading your posts (I’ve subscribed!) and maybe even featuring some of your own posts as I do plan on a weekly roundup of Thai themed recipes and posts from other food bloggers.
Warm regards,
Steve
P.S. If you are on Twitter I would love to have you as a follower and I follow back:

Hi there;
I live in Miami, and everyone has pushed me to sell my pops, which most of the time I have given as presents for parties. I am having a hard time in finding or creating one to fit several types of pops I make. Do you have any suggestions? I want to be able to have a nice presentable with at least 2 or 3 tiers>
Thanks
Marisol

Hello! I make mixing bowl covers and thought you might be interested in them. They are 100% reusable cotton, which eliminates the need for plastic wrap. They fit virtually every counter top mixing bowls. Not only do they protect your culinary concoctions from draft or pests, they also keep the bowl clean when not in use. They are featured online at www.anyplace.etsy.com
Thank you! Valerie

Hello, my name is Rachell Miller and I and raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society through Team in Training. I am starting a bit early but this year I plan on doing the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon and working to raise $3000. I saw that you have a connection to Team in Training, so you are familiar with our goal and our fight to help find a cure. A little about me…I have been with Team in Training since 2007 after my Mother-in-Law passed away from cancer, then in 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer myself. Talk about hitting home for me. It can strike anyone, at any point in time and you feel hopeless. I am praying that they find a cure one day. I don’t want to see cancer take another life.
You have a WONDERFUL business and I love reading your blog. I wanted to find out if you you would be willing to donate cake pops, mini cupcakes or anything else for me to use for fundraising. All proceeds will go the the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. I would love to speak with you if this is something you would be willing to do. This can help get your name and company out to the community as well as help a cause that is near and dear to me and I am sure is near and dear to you. I want to thank you for your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
