Colorado Catering’s Ideas on Reception Styles

Posted on November 17th, 2011

When it comes to catering for your wedding reception, there are alot of different things to think about. The first thing you should think about is what type of serving styles your are going to want.

One popular choice is the seated dinner. The seated dinner follows the cocktail hour and includes several served courses. Although service costs are the highest for this kind of service, there are ways to keep the tab down. Try to keep the menu basic and free of expensive ingredients and this will allow your budget to be spread out a little more.

Food stations are on a growing trend in Colorado wedding receptions. This type of meal encourages guests to mingle with other guests and gets those wallflower guests up and moving, making for a more energetic atmosphere. Each food station is set up in different parts of the room, with each theme providing a different theme. These different themes may include a steak carving station, a Italian theme with pasta, sushi, grilling/ barbecue station, omelet stand, crepe table or raw food table.

Another great option for serving styles for your wedding reception is, buffet style. With this sort of setup your guests are able to assemble their own plates. Your Colorado caterer will have to provide staff to serve your guests in line, but this comes with a very low cost.

Finally, a cocktail party is a final choice in reception serving styles. This serving style can be the more luxurious style with it  featuring an assortment of hors d’oeuvres passed around by the waitstaff and also offered at themed food stations. This structure also encourages dancing and mingling, but in most cases are not suited for wedding formalities.

Weddings are a very exciting time and for that special day you want the perfect wine. Food and wine play an important role in a wedding, often reflecting the tastes of the couple themselves. Your food and wine choices will help create the mood of your wedding, so make sure your choice is just as unique as you are. Going to wine tastings will help you decide on a color and whether it  goes perfect with the meal you are planning to serve.

Wedding Colorado’s Good Wedding Day Deed Idea

Posted on September 28th, 2011

If all this Colorado wedding planning has you feeling a little self centered, here is a great idea we came across that will allow you to contribute to your community. When choosing the best Colorado caterer for your wedding day, explain to them that you want to donate your left over food to the food bank. This means you will be giving them clear details on how to follow through the task so that they are prepared and can act quickly.

You can find a local food-rescue organization through Feeding America  and be sure to read the organization’s food guidelines chart to find out what they accept and what their storage requirements are. In the state of Colorado, there are five food banks that allow this sort of thing, they are located in Colorado Springs (Care and Share Food Bank), Denver (Food Bank of the Rockies), Fort Collins (Food Bank For Larimer County), Greeley (Weld Food Bank) and in Longmont (Community Food Share). On your special day, make it special for someone you don’t know as well, with providing them a delicious meal.
