Free Honey reunited…and it feels so good! As you can see I had a wonderful time in San Francisco! It was so good to see Becca – whether I’m raiding her bookshelves, perusing her closet with her or just drinking coffee while watching TV, it’s as though no time has passed. I think that’s how you can tell the difference between friends and great friends. All corniness aside, San Fran is such a cool city with so many different neighborhoods – all with a really distinct vibe. We did a little shopping, some sightseeing and a lot of eating. (BTW – if you want to know where to find gnocchi that can save your life – @beccabellle is your kind of girl).
I also finally got to meet Santina which was so fun, and not just because I met her over all-you-can-drink brunch! Meeting someone you’ve known via the internet for over a year is kind of a strange experience for me. But it was also a really positive one (because Santina is awesome – if you aren’t acquainted with her, go visit Style by Santina ASAP) and it also made me realize that I have missed blogging. So prepare to see a few more posts of my Cali adventures

High Buns and Hair Colors
by Ashley on September 16, 2011
[Dress: Zara // Bag: Michael Kors // Shoes: Forever 21 // Cardigan: Mango // Belt: H&M]
Does anything put a spring in your step quite like a new dress? As terribly cliched as it’s become to say, there really is something great about a dress that goes from day to night. I wore this dress to work with flats and a little blazer but then tossed on these heels to go out to dinner! I was simultaneously pleased and displeased with my hair: pleased at how cute this high bun turned out and not so pleased at the 2 very distinct colors my hair has grown into. Earth to Ashley – it’s time to reunite with some hair dye. So that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend, hope everyone has a good one!!
Absolutely had to include this shot of me being (unknowingly) judged by this lady. I can’t be tamed, you Upper East Side snob, judge away.

Modern Day Cowgirl
by Becca on September 10, 2011
Just a little outfit action from Fashion Night Out in San Francisco. Although it didn’t compare to the crowds in New York (which is probably a good thing), it was a great turn out for SF! I met up with the ladies to hit up events at Vince, Marc Jacobs, and Saks. What could be better than shopping and sipping champagne. We followed up the evening a pit stop for sushi and unlimited laughter. [Dress: Aqua | Shirt: Martin & Osa | Boots: Jeffery Campbell | Necklace & Bracelet: BP]
I didn’t have time to change after work. So I attended the festivities in my modern day cowgirl get up. I’ve been finding every excuse possible to wear these boots at all times – they’re definitely a new favorite. This was my first time trying them out with a dress – I think it was a win! Turns out, Santina bought them too – expect twin boot pics in the near future.

Too Old for a Tube Top?
by Ashley on August 28, 2011
I am 25 years old. Is it still socially acceptable for me to be wearing a tube top or do I need to move to California to get away with this sort of behavior?
[Tube top: Beau & Eros // White Jeans: Gap // Bag: Hayden-Harnett for Target // Shoes: Seychelles]
In my defense, I actually purchased this tube top from a Boutique my sophomore year of college, so I was 19 at the time. But, to be fair I must admit that I wore this outfit to work on a casual Friday.
So what do you all think? Do certain clothes have an age limit or are there always exceptions to every rule? I confess I’m guilty of failing to consider my age when shopping or dressing myself. But the truth is that I am firmly in my mid-twenties. And since I am actually closer to 30 then I am to 20 (please excuse me as I FREAK OUT over this), isn’t it time I started to dress accordingly?

On Moving, Fake Summer, and Blogging Neighbors
by Becca on August 25, 2011
The good part about taking a month long blog break is that I have lots to say. While I’ve been away, I’ve moved into a new apartment. In fact, it’s my very first big girl apartment. I live all by myself and it’s wonderful! That’s a nicer way of saying – “holy shit my apartment is small.” Like, can touch my bed from my couch small. But it’s all mine. So I’ve been hard at work furnishing things, cursing IKEA and their awful directions and enjoying the fact that I live 2 flights of stairs from Lauren. Speaking of Lauren, I made her start a fashion blog. Since we live 10 feet away from each other and I have a photographer at the ready, I really have no excuse for not having pictures on a regular basis. Sorry I’m not sorry.
[Dress: H&M | Jacket: Vince | Sandals: Seychelles | Bracelet: Loft | Necklace: Jess LC]
So after living here for nearly a month and not taking advantage of my in house photographer. We made plans for an all you can drink mimosa brunch date followed by outfit photos. I realize that pictures should have probably come before 5 mimosas, but you live, you learn. Some of you might be thinking, “it’s summer – what gives with the leather jacket” now others of you may be thinking “wow, how can she read my mind?” IT’S MAGIC. But shhh – back to me dressing like it’s winter. San Francisco’s idea of summer has not lived up to my expectations. I’ve consistently worn jackets and tights throughout the summer while everyone else has been at the beach. I thought I moved to California, not Maine… I’m still looking for Mother Nature’s address, I have a letter of complaint for that bitch!
