Hello. I'm Vanessa, the one-woman team behind Thrift Core.
Thrifting, frugality, and creativity are as natural as breathing for me.
[My Floridian Uniform: Sundress and Flip Flops. I love warm weather.]
With Thrift Core I strive to inspire, educate, and unite a community of thrifters, interior-design lovers, crafters, vintage collectors, and creatives of all kinds. In short, Thrift Core is all about thrifting, creating, and saving money.
About Vanessa
I'm a 24-year-old workaholic and artsy-type. By day, I'm a
web marketer and copywriter (Vanwrites.com). I've created countless websites
since 1998 and my work has been published by the Fox News Network, WJXT Channel
4, CNN, Entrepreneur, The Wall Street Journal, Advantage Business Journal
Magazine, and The Washington Post, but I see this all as just the beginning.

Also, I have a quirky sense of humor. My love of robots,
cephalopods, and cartoons knows no bounds.
Hobbies and Side Projects
I maintain a booth at Southern Crossing Antique Mall. I
craft, draw, garden, and take pictures.

I love to assist local causes (like making the website for the
Argyle Area Community Garden) and I write for local art magazines like Mesh
Magazine and blogs like Papernstitch and Krrb. I'm always working on an art
project of some kind on the side.

Art Style
Expressive, colorful, kitsch, eclectic. It's hard for me to
appreciate art that's sterile and average, I love anything playful and unique.
I'm a sucker for Japanese and nautical bits.
I Thrift For…
[See this haul in detail here]
Household essentials, all things mod, unique art, outlandish
kitsch items, useful books and records, bits to resell in my antique store
booth, anything affordable that demands my attention.
