BSI is back!
Nov 7, 2011 by Jennifer
For those of you who haven’t participated in BSI (Blogger Secret Ingredient), it’s a cooking challenge where a different host every week chooses an ingredient and if you decide to participate, you submit a link to the post on your site or a picture and the recipe.
For a complete list of the rules, check out this link
BSI was going strong for a long time, I want to say it was strong for 100+ weeks travelling all over the world. My twin sister Biz brought it back last week – the secret ingredient was pumpkin. There were some great submissions and my sister made pumpkin ravioli which she said turned out great.
So, since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I am choosing CRANBERRY is the secret ingredient. It can be fresh or dried – make whatever you want.
The contest runs all week and the winner will be picked Sunday, November 13th. Send me your submission either in the comments of this post – or you can e-mail me at slim-shoppin@comcast.net, just put BSI in the subject so I make sure I don’t miss anyone.
If you have any questions, just ask. I have a recipe in mind – I haven’t made it in a few years, so I’m going to put my thinking cap on!
The winner gets a prize from me – TBD next Sunday.
Come back tomorrow – I made a new peanut sauce for stir fry that serves one person – it turned out amazing!

I love cranberries – fresh – frozen or dried. One of my favorite recipes is to use them in an apple crisp. They add a nice tartness as well as a beautiful burst of color.
But this recipe for To Die For Cranberry Coconut Bars is hands down a winner with everyone who tries them! Great to serve for the holiday gatherings that are just around the corner.

I have fresh cranberries at home right now, but since I can’t use added sugar to make a new recipe, I had to dig into my archieves – hope dried cranberries count!
