Who’s FooDiva?

spacer With Dubai’s burgeoning dining scene, and a real gap in the market for a website dedicated to impartial, intelligent restaurant reviews, FooDiva brings you her very own critique on where to dine, what to eat, and in some cases where to buy it. Aside from restaurant reviews, you’ll find F&B (industry lingo for food & beverage) interviews with chefs for instance, foodie features and product reviews. More here in FooDiva’s editorial policy. You can subscribe for free to regular updates, or just type what you’re looking for in the search function, and the relevant reviews will pop up.

I am Greek-Cypriot-British, based out of Dubai but never happy to sit still, am always searching for a new quality foodie experience in the U.A.E and on my travels. Anyone that has dined with me, knows how fussy I am, so prepare yourselves for a culinary odyssey. You may also catch me cooking up a storm at home, and may get the odd recipe thrown in but don’t hold your breath!

A secret foodie, I have been passionate about food ever since I can remember – most probably thanks to my dad, and my upbringing in hotels around the world. When a GM’s daughter wants those hand cut French fries she gets it! 17 years of communications and public relations experience in Europe and the Middle East, of which 12 are in the travel industry (that’s a lot of lunches and dinners), also go some way to fine tuning my taste buds.

My days have always revolved round what’s for lunch and dinner (plus the odd breakfast) – even when working ungodly hours. Always remember to eat! Don’t ever take me on holiday, where food is not at the core of any itinerary. I adore discovering new eateries, whether the simplicity of a cafe, the authenticity of a street joint, the glamour of a fine dining experience, or just the most scrumptious cup cake. Or even where to buy the best tea or chocolate.

If you’d like to get in touch directly or through social media, you can Find FooDiva here.

A bientôt.

FooDiva. x

P.S – my other hats are as a freelance journalist – I write an expert column and foodie features for Ahlan’s new monthly Gourmet magazine -  and as a Communications Consultant supporting companies with internal and external strategic communications, reputation management, PR training (crisis communications and the whole spectrum of media management) plus copywriting. If you require any freelance or project support you know who to ask!

Love your site. You know I hate stuff like this normally but having seen your site I am now hooked! Really great and I look forward to more updates.

Only one small complaint – thought you would have covered the dinner party in Garhoud but obviously it did not make the cut.

    Still love you though!

    Thanks for loving FooDiva!

I was off duty that night…but yes I should have. The food and the chef certainly deserved a posting. Invite me back and I will review it!

If you run across a decent US Prime Rib of Beef in your culinary adventures in either DXB or any other gastro scene worldwide please look over the Chef’s shoulder for a sneak view of the recipe and let us know by return. It‘s literally unknown and not available in our part of the world … even the Mövenpick’s appear to ignore it ……or do a modest job only when trying to go US once in a while. Thks

      Gutenmorgen Mr Angstman!

Most steakhouses here in Dubai serve US prime rib of beef. It’s a permanent fixture on both Gary Rhodes’ Twenty10 and also West 14th’s menus which I recently reviewed. I’ll be in touch with a recipe.
