Delicious and Nutritious; Bok Choy

A well balanced diet is fundamental to good health and a happy, long life. Adopting vegetarianism or even semi-vegetarianism allows for a delicious diet that provides all the necessary nourishment and energy for an active and healthy lifestyle.

A well-balanced meat-free diet is a healthy alternative; often containing less fat and cholesterol and more essential fibre. By adopting a rich and diverse diet of primarily plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds it is easy to achieve our dietary requirements and obtain all the nutrients needed for optimum health and well being.

All of the foods we eat contain a varying degree and combination of nutrients. A wide variety of plant based foods offer great sources of particular nutrients and a healthy vegetarian diet includes all of these.

Many people worry that it is difficult to obtain all the necessary nutrients when adopting a meat-free diet. However, this could not be further from the truth. It is important to remember that a well balanced diet is essential to health and well being; whether you are vegetarian or not. It is simple to include an abundance of different foods in our diet whatever our lifestyle.*
