Design is about experimentation, intuition, and making strategic decisions for your brand.

Itall started during the mid 90s in high school. I looked forward to sharing music with my skater (that’s me up there in the pool) and death rock friends. Mixtapes with custom covers were huge and featured bands like Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, and Ride. Old newspaper and magazine collections reserved to collect dust were raided. With scissors and experimentation at hand, I cut out words and images, then blended them together. Pre-Photoshop? Indeed.

Today, I’ve taken influences from music and art by creating masterful work for the screen. I have over 13 years of experience in web and graphic design; and managing my company, Illusio Design. I’m enthusiastic about designing with experimentation, intuition, and making strategic decisions for a client’s brand.

My passion for nonprofit and environmental organizations began in 2000 while managing Sierra Club’s Ventana Chapter. I also helped Friends of African Village Libraries (FAVL) build their branding. Working with CARE to create a donation website to aid the victims of the Port-au-Prince, Haiti earthquakes in January 2010 solidified my interest in philanthropy. Seeing the pictures of devastation and despair made me realize that compelling, fresh, and authentic design can help to change our world. And I’m eager to continue helping like-minded organizations represent their brands.

Related clients have included American Public Media, CivicActions, CARE, Sierra Club, Columbia State University, and CSU Monterey Bay. Local Portland, OR clients: Depave, Montavilla Farmers Market, Local Goods, Muddy River Design, and more.
