The Seafood Prix d’Elite new product competition takes place alongside the European Seafood Exposition and Seafood Processing Europe. Together, these events form the world’s largest seafood exposition.With buyers from over 140 countries in attendance, entrants in the Seafood Prix d’Elite competition present their product to the European and global marketplace. As companies compete to win the esteemed first place awards they introduce their new products to the numerous visitors coming to the Seafood Prix d’Elite stand. This highly recognized and publicized competition leads to increased profits, recognition and sales for participants. This competition recognizes the finest seafood products developed by seafood companies over the past year for the retail and foodservice markets in Europe. Margreet van Harn, Marketing Director of the Heiploeg Group, said that winning the 2011 Seafood Prix d’Elite in the Convenience category has resulted in quite some free publicity for their Prawn Antipasti. ‘There has been quite some interest in the product, which in the meantime has been listed by retailers in several European countries’.
