Frozen Royalty is published by Gann Matsuda, a native of the Los Angeles area who grew up playing roller hockey in the local schoolyard and has been following the Los Angeles Kings since 1973, when he was still a little kid.
Matsuda, who has been writing about the Kings since 1986, has also covered the Kings and the National Hockey League for The Hockey Writers during the 2010-11 season, and has served as News Editor for the Online Kingdom since 1995. He also served as the Featured Columnist covering the Kings for Bleacher Report from 2009 to February, 2011, and was the lead writer covering the Kings for HockeyTalk from late 2006 to February 2010.
In February 2009, Matsuda became a member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
The idea behind this web site is for it to be one of the best places to find the in-depth news, analysis, commentary, audio interviews, and timely, intelligent and insightful discussion about the Kings and the National Hockey League, featuring interviews direct from the Kings’ dressing room at Staples Center, the front office and, time permitting, from their practice facility.
