Yesterday, a bright and beautiful day in more ways than one, took me to Edinburgh for a long, gossipy lunch with my old friend Nicola and my new friend Vanessa. Afterwards I pottered about, and laughed when I saw these two shops:
Can you guess which one I went in to? Here’s a clue:
Even though I’m trying very hard to be healthier, even though I know sugar and I don’t get on terribly well… I went to the sweet shop.
And this is not unusual, in terms of the way I do things. There are two options, very close to each other, and I know the one I ought to take…. but do I take it? Um… quite often, not. And I’m not just talking about food. A walk or another cup of tea? Oh, go on then, put the kettle on. Another hour of writing or a bit of sock knitting? Hand me my needles. Blogging or faffing about with candy letters?
I rest my case.
Tell me it’s not just me.

But you’re one of most self-disciplined and least procrastinator-ish (don’t suppose that’s actually a wrod, is it?) people I know! Besides, as my Nan used to say, a little of what you fancy does you good.
of course “wrod” is not a word either , is it?!
It is now!
