A Romantic Fredericksburg Texas
B & B Barn
Der Stall (The Barn) Bed and Breakfast in historic Fredericksburg, Texas is a replica of this German descendant's family barn in Reifenberg, Germany. This fully modern guesthouse was constructed by the innkeepers and two generations of the innkeeper's German descendants to include milling the hardwood floor boards from locally procured rough-cut pine.
This Fredericksburg Texas guesthouse has a master bedroom featuring a queen-size bed with a robust log headboard and footboard. Both were cut from nearby cedar trees and made by the innkeepers. The bedroom also has a romantic in-floor two-person Jacuzzi brand jetted bath. You're invited to dim the lighting and let the warm bubbling water sooth your cares away. Climb the steep (did we mention the steps are steep?) wooden steps to the hayloft for two full-size beds with a commanding view down into the cozy living room.

The living room in the Texas Bed and Breakfast features a German hutch used daily by your innkeepers in Queidersbach, Germany where your innkeepers and family lived before moving to Texas. The hutch provides space for the coffeemaker, microwave oven, and mini-refrigerator stocked with complimentary beverages. Also in the living room is a television with VCR/DVD player only, and an eclectic collection of movies for you to relax and watch. Der Stall Bed and Breakfast will comfortably sleep a maximum of 4 persons.
The bathroom features a corner shower and a one-of-a-kind bucket sink on a circa 1930 Motorola console radio/record player. Water for the sink is supplied from a replica 1890 hand pump.
In the morning you may brew your own coffee in the in-room coffee service while you relax and wait for your innkeeper to deliver fresh-baked affenbrot and fruit at 8:30 am. Affenbrot is a delightful cinnamon and Texas pecan breakfast cake and a long-standing tradition of the innkeeper's family. Though baked from a secret family recipe, affenbrot recipes are given to guests that can keep a secret.
Enjoy the solitude of staying on 3 acres of a 380-acre high-fenced neighborhood. You will have a good chance of seeing white-tailed deer walking around (Alice, Mary, and Red are quite tame), feed the family ducks beside the pond, and sit in awe as the peacocks and peahens strut by. Many of our guests enjoy eating their breakfast in the covered picnic bench area next to the barn.
