49ers KO'd; Brian Jennings to Pro Bowl

Monday, January 23, 2012

spacer After a heartbreaking 20-17 overtime loss by the 49ers in the NFC Championship game to the Giants on a day where Alex Smith reverted back to his usual, relatively ineffective self and Kyle Williams fumbled the game away on two different occasions, the 49ers received some good news as veteran long snapper Brian Jennings was named to his second Pro Bowl as a "need player" by the Packers coaching staff. Congratulations to Brian, who is the league's best long snapper annually. This gives the 49ers NINE Pro Bowlers, most in the NFL.

Congratulations also to the 49ers. No one expected them to play so well this year as a team and achieve as much as they did. Jim Harbaugh and his staff did an amazing job turning them into legit championship contenders with a ton of heart and chemistry, and giving all of us Niner fans so much hope for the future.

49ers win and Clinch division

Sunday, December 4, 2011

In what looked to be a slow starting game in the beginning, the 49ers came away with the blowout victory over the Rams, 26-0. And in the process, they have clinched the NFC West for the first time since 2002.

Alex Smith threw shy of 300 yards, and had 2 nice Touchdowns. One each by Michael Crabtree and Kyle Williams. He could of had another one had Vernon Davis not dropped the pass in the end zone.

But the defense was really the key, especially when Patrick Willis went down early with a hamstring injury. Filling in for him was Larry Grant, who had some nice tackles, and a nice sack.

Rookie Aldon Smith came up with 2 sacks, running his total up to 9.5 for the season.

And of course big congratulations go to Frank Gore as he broke 49er great Joe Perry's all-time rushing record in a career.

Congratulations to the entire team for the clinch of the division, and next up is a matchup in Arizona. Next sunday, 1:05 pacific/ 4:05 eastern, on FOX.
