The Shoe Diaries, BlogHer edition
So I meant to do a shoe of the month for July and then the month FLEW by. Where is the time going? Jeez.
Anyhoo so since I was SO late I’m now presenting The BlogHer edition of The Shoe Diaries. So you get FOUR pairs instead of one.
I have been planning my wardrobe for BlogHer-as I do for most everything. (Seriously. In high school, I kept a calendar on the back of my bedroom door and wrote down what I wore EVERY day so I could make sure I didn’t repeat too often. OCD much?) But I also have been trying to bring minimum footwear. Which shouldn’t be all that hard since my attire tends to go one of two ways; black or Lilly. And I’m not bringing any Lilly.
First up, these heels:
I love these shoes, adore them. Wear them all the stinking time. They are actually MUCH higher than they look and super comfortable. I’ll probably wear these the majority of the time. And when I’m not, I’ll be in these…
These little Tory Burch wedge flip-flops are SO super comfortable and give some support as well. I HATE seeing people wear skinny soled flip-flops with their toes dragging along grimy city streets. Super disturbing and ewww…I bought these at Saks in B’ham when I went down to meet Jen Lancaster-again. And yes, I remember I am still overdue on writing my post about how if I ever get divorced that Jen Lancaster will be listed as the reason. A first, I’m sure.
So much like sorority rush, I mean recruitment. Rush isn’t pc anymore. Of course, neither am I. So much like rush, wear your cute shoes inside and swap into your flops when you’re moving. They need BlogHer counselors like we had rush counselors. I LOVED being a rush counselor-the most fun. Okay. Back on track.
I also will probably wear these:
As I fully admit, my favorite color is sparkly. And while I love most any shoes, I MOST especially love shoes with sparkles. I don’t know what I’m going to wear these for, and I’ve never worn them, but I will find something.
And finally? These little genius ideas:
I’m a little bitter about these because whomever invented them? TOTALLY stole the idea from me. I said years ago that I needed a little pair of flats that rolled up super duper tiny so they could be stashed in a coat pocket. (My evening bags can fit nothing else in them. So obviously, these need to be pocket-sized for my hubs to carry around.) I’ll have these stashed with me at parties. I’m even MORE bitter because since I bought these, Dr. Scholl’s has come out with a really similar version that you can get for around $10 at Walgreens.
Of course, this still leaves you with the problem of what to do with your shoes you ditched. It’s unfortunate I’m not bringing the hubs to BlogHer because he’s been known to work my heels through his belt so that I don’t “forget” where I put them. He’s awesome like that.
What about you? What sort of fabulous footwear will you be sporting at BlogHer? Will you have multiple pairs with you at a time? Looks like I’ll be wearing one and having a spare…and a spare.

First, I adore the sparkly ones!!! So cute!You may want to break them in around the house before NYC this weekend..I’m just saying. I am so jealous of everyone going to Blogher. It is only 2 hours from me, ugh! I would probably wear shoes that were comfortable, you will be on your feet for LONG time. Enjoy your time

If I WERE going to BlogHer, you would probably see me in flipflops. That is pretty much my staple this time of year, grime or not. I was just in Boston over the weekend in flipflops all day. Just a little grime. My daughter had them on too and somehow she managed to find a lot of grime!
I just traipsed around Six Flags in Havaianas. I can’t believe I made it, because I have really accursed feet and wearing anything but sneakers causes me pain after about 30 minutes.

Since I am not going to BlogHer, I will be wearing my new red faboosh shoes out to dinner with my hubs and some other good friends and thinking of all you lovely ladies having the time of your life without letting the bed bugs bite.
I’m drooling over your Tory Burch wedge flip flops. I live in Florida, so flip flops are part of my uniform. More specifically, platform flip flops.

I am bringing at least 4 pairs of shoes to NYC. But that’s because at least 2 of them need to be repaired and NYC has the best shoe repair in the world and they can usually do it in less than 24 hours and they don’t charge you an arm and a leg. A guy in NC once told me it would take a week to replace taps on a pair of Coach heels AND he wanted to charge me $20. SERIOUSLY DUDE? Also? I thought it was so cute of BlogHer to inform us to wear comfy shoes. As if traipsing around the Hilton is akin to a 5K.
I’ve done a million conferences…in heels. But, I do fall down lots.
So cute! I’ll be wearing metalic flats. So excited and only a few days away!
I’ll probably bring some of those too. I f I actually make it with just 4 pairs of shoes, I will be amazed.
