I hate writing “About me” pages. Seriously. Join me for coffee and I’ll talk all day long about me. Ask my friends. Once you get me started it’s hard to shut me up – especially if you are a good listener. That’s not to say that I don’t love listening to you talk to… See what I mean? Everything is coming out all kinds of wonky.
So you want to know about the voice behind the curtain? I’m me. I make absolutely no apologies for that because I happen to think I’m pretty awesome.
I didn’t always feel that way so to be able to type that and MEAN it is a huge step.
I’m a mom, friend, sister (although I don’t talk about that much), daughter, employee, student… as well as a few other hats I wear. I keep busy between working full time, going back to school to finish my degree, writing this blog, and community management for Mamavation and Bookieboo. I use out-dated and weird words – like “gal” and “wonky” and Live in Texas so I say y’all. A lot. I can curse like a sailor but not around people who are offended or that I don’t know well. I know how to be a lady – (so mothers typically love me)- but don’t have to be . I work on my own car and fix stuff around my house – (so dads find me intriguing). Yep… I’m complex – grease monkey to ball gown and everything in between.
My kids are amazing – I know everyone says that – but seriously they are so even tempered and we have the most fun together so when I’m not here, it usually means we are off causing trouble having fun together.
What will you read on my blog? Well, a little bit of everything! I’m UBER crafty so I post a lot of my DIY projects here. A lot of my posts involve my weight loss journey. I’ve already come a long way and still have a long way to go and am doing it one step at a time. I’ve found the secret to weight loss by the way… EAT RIGHT AND MOVE MORE! Yep – no magic pill here. Yes, it is a slow process but it’s a worthwhile one. You also might find a sprinkle of Gratitude here as I’m participating in the 365 Thanks project started by Alysa (InspiredRD) and it’s amazing what happens when you REALLY start to count your blessings.
