The Healthy Dose

Posted on by drew

Here’s the official video for Ni**as in Paris by Kanye and Jay-z. Don’t watch it if you have epilepsy, please just don’t.

It raised 400,000 views in the past 7 hours, that would be impressive if it even came close to the $1,300,000 kickstarted in under 30 hours for the game Double Fine Adventure. Yesterday’s news, get on your shit.

The A$AP group is still spitting that hot shit cuz they cocky with a limp dick. I want more from them. Who’s got some mix-tapes?

To end today’s healthy does I present to you MC Frontalot from the 1300 block of Sesame Street.

Knee High of the Late Week

I couldn’t resist. She needed posting stat.

Matching top to bottom, butter cream, butter cream, butter cream what’s the size of the waist? (Rush Hour reference).

Don’t even claim “babe overload” for the week. You ain’t seen nothing yet. Or maybe you have if you’ve been following Popflys.

We’re known to just drop a ton of babes at any given moment like last week when we had some competition.

Penny x The Hundreds

Nice, Pennys are blowing up. This is a good and a bad. Obviously with all products you feel great as the “early-adopter” and once it starts picking up you start fading out and getting pissed off, or not.

Penny skateboards did a decent job collaborating with The Hundreds on this CMYK themed deck. I can’t say it’s super rad quite yet but at least it’s a start towards future co-labs with potentially sick companies.

If you haven’t purchased a Penny yet don’t. They’re not cool, they’re not fun to ride and nobody (us) wants to see more and more Pennys riding around on campus. Exclusivity.

Vans Stovepipe

Voila! The new Vans from the OTW collection (the only one you need to follow) have arrived on scene sporting a name that makes absolutely no sense to me.

Like the title says these crispy degs are called the “Stovepipe”, its beyond me why they called them the stovepipes rather than the slick ricks or the dryer-vent.

If I had cash I’d say “dibs on the grays” right furken now, but I don’t have cash.

Non-tech deets –

“The slim, minimalist mid top makes it mark with a trio of materials: slick savannah leather with an all black aesthetic, crispy canvas with clean white detailing from top to sole and handsome hazybuck with a strong hit of gray from its foxing stripe to uppers”

Available for purchase in the OTW web shop.

Advertising 101 : You’ve Screwed Up if You’re Here

Posted on by drew

I’m not here to talk about the advertisements below created for Accenture. I’m bringing to you my favorite source of advertising news on the planet.

Copyranter is that source, and while he’s the best source you’ll find you certainly don’t want your glossy 8.5 by 11 creative execution that you and your team busted ass for to show up on his blog.

He’s a copywriter with 18 years experience and I’d say 17 years of loathe for the world.

So enough, either check out Copyranter or don’t. Here’s what he had to say about these two Accenture ads.

“If you spend any time in airports, you’ve seen Accenture’s animal kingdom metaphor campaign (the follow-up work to the killed—because of out of wedlock fuckplosion—Tiger Woods endorsement ads).

Accenture with 236,000 employees in 120 countries, is the largest business consultant firm in the world. Their fees are fucking gargantuan.

So you’d think they’d know a thing or two, and show that they know a thing or two in their ads. No.

You get shown something that they don’t do (L), or you get shown something that means nothing. “Today’s challenges are different”—no fucking shit, shitheads.

The Man Who Lived On His Bike

Posted on by drew

Guillaume Blanchet from Montreal created this film for his father who is 64 years old and still continues to ride his bike everywhere.

Guillaume spent 382 days filming this freeing and super inspiring short film for his father who’d assume is still in good shape after riding his bike everywhere for such time.

Montreal is super bike friendly besides the whole theft aspect. Don’t let it deter you, just be careful. There’s more bike thieves up there than in Philadelphia, it sounds ridiculous but it’s true.

Remote Controlled Cafe

There’s this coffee spot in Helsinki, Finland where you just can’t pass a moment unwatched nor untethered.

It’s called the Kauko Cafe and although they have a mission statement I still don’t quite understand why the cafe is remote controlled by bored ones like myself sitting on the internet.

“Design has an effect on you, have an effect on it. On this page, you can experience the effect of design by remote controlling the design of objects, the atmosphere and service in real-time.”

So go on Kauko’s site and give it a shot, control some table or the lights and see how it effects the Helsinki coffee consuming population. Good luck, the application and website are hot off the press right now and everyone’s mom is trying to feel some sense of power via remote control.

Cinemagram

I’ll give you my seal of approval on this $1.99 purchase from the app store. Cinemagram is how should I say it? Fun-as-fuck!

What is it Drew? I can’t / won’t read or follow the link you’ve set to find out more!

It makes .GIF images. If you don’t know the capabilities and usage of the .GIF file format you can .GTFO

It’s really easy as well to make one, their interface is awesome and so user friendly. The only problem I’ve encountered so far with the application is that I can’t get it to properly connect to my Facebook account.

Cinemagram is $1.99 well worth it. The possibilities are endless with Cinemagram if you can think in and out of the box.

Here are some examples of what you can create with Cinemagram.
