I have a cold Coke over ice with my breakfast every morning. It’s my most anticipated drink of the day and it’s just not the same if it’s: a. not from an ice cold can, b. not in a glass full of ice, or c. not with breakfast. You might say I’m sort of stuck in my ways.
Today’s p52 challenge is “Drink Up.” See all my challenge photos here.
When I announced my personal creative challenge for this year was to photograph two births for free, I didn’t dream I would get an opportunity so quickly. Jenny contacted me soon after I published this post and I met her for the first time Saturday, February 4, the day she also met her son.
Jenny, her family and the nurses were all wonderful about me being there. I got to go in the operating room for her c-section and be there the minute her son was born! I hope these images adequately tell the story of Collin’s birth day and their family of three becoming a family of four.
Thank you Jenny and J.B. for letting me be a part of this special day!

Every Friday I try to participate in a photo challenge called Project 52 (one photo a week all year) hosted by Darcy at My 3 Boybarians. This week’s theme was shadow and the ones I took for this theme were not my favorite pictures of the week, but I’ll show you anyway. I was walking our new puppy at the park on a leash. She’s getting used to it, but was not all that happy about wearing it at the park.
I love it when the shadows make me look tall and skinny.
This is what she looks like when she’s not a shadow:
My favorite photo of this week was of our house. It was taken this same day (a lot happened this day, see here), after the chicken incident and appointment, we went to the park, drove home in a thunderstorm, saw an amazing rainbow, and then the sky did some beautiful things.
My three year old is standing in the door way yelling, “What are you doing mama? I want to come too.”
