About Me
On an unusually warm, sunny afternoon in late April 2009, I got home from work and decided it was time. Time to get off my butt. Time to start running. Time to challenge myself and do something. I was stuck in a funk — I had just graduated from college, didn’t have a “real” job in my field (nor did I really want one). I was overweight and had started successfully losing weight on Weight Watchers two months prior, but I needed to add that extra piece of the puzzle. I wasn’t happy. I had no goals other than my weight loss goals and not much to look forward to.
I went on my first “run” on the outdoor track at my alma mater. Before I knew it, I ran my first mile without stopping, my first 5K and so on.
after my first 5K in September 2009
Since then, my life has been all about finishing firsts. My first attempts at cooking from scratch, my first marathon, my first place, my first job in my career path, first ultra marathon. I’m sure you get the picture.
I began this blog in April of 2010 as a way to document the final weeks of training for my first half marathon, as well as living and running just outside of my lifelong home of Cleveland, Ohio.
I’ve since found my passion in running, healthy living and personal training. I’ve ran distances from 5K to 50K, become an ACE certified personal trainer and started working to help others reach their goals and realize their potential.

I’m using this blog as a way to document my training and my life on my way to accomplishing my goals and living an ever-evolving healthy lifestyle.
