Twilight the Deer

Jesse and Magdalena Lambright / Pine River Publishing

The life story of a deer written at a child's level. Beautiful full-color pictures!

From the introduction: "Can we not compare our own journey through life with that of Twilight? Have we not loving parents who protect us from the evils of this present world and try to prepare us for the storms? Our antlers of faith grow, until we no longer depend on our parents, but place our security in our Saviour. May we, like Twilight, find that when the storms pass over, we come out wiser and stronger in the warm spring sunlight, victorious over sin, rooted in faith and forever grateful." More info...

Faith and Works in Salvation

Aaron M. Shank / Rod and Staff Publishers

The Bible speaks of a "most holy faith," thus implying that there are faiths which are not holy and will not save us. People have numerous ideas about saving faith. Some think that since a person is saved "not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:9), salvation is therefore "by faith alone, plus nothing." Others point to the Scripture that says, "Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (James 2:17); and on this basis they emphasize the importance of good works. Since salvation is a matter of eternal life or death, it will be an unspeakable tragedy in the end if we have anything other than the "most holy faith." This booklet is intended to provide a proper understanding of saving faith and its accompanying works as taught in the Scriptures. More info...

The Wonder of Redemption

(Sanctification and Justification)

Dennis Witmer / Rod and Staff Publishers

Redemption is a deep yet wonderful subject. Although God's grace is available to all people, it is not irresistible. On the other hand, attempting to help God by our own works can make His work ineffective. We need to seek a safe course between the ditch of abandoning all restraints and that of focusing on extra-Scriptural regulations. Initial sanctification should lead to a progressive experience through which the Christian increases in holiness.

How is our past record cleared? We have sinned, and we need a remedy. Thanks to God, the ransom has been paid. God was willing to invest what it took for our justification—the death of His own Son. Will we accept His provisions and not only rejoice in the forgiveness extended to us, but also live a righteous life in Christ Jesus? More info...

Charting a Course in Your Youth

A Serious Call to Examine Your Faith, Focus, and Finances

Gary Miller / T.G.S. International

Far more than a book on finances, Charting a Course will help youth establish a life plan that channels their time, talents, and resources into the Kingdom of God.

Gary Miller addresses practical issues such as credit, advertising pressure, and our infatuation with electronic gadgets, offering down-to-earth, easy-to-follow guidance. And he does so within the framework of Jesus' call to seek first the Kingdom of God. This is not simply a guide to manage money frugally or how-to course in making money, but a continual call to look for ways to live as Jesus would, to carry out His intentions in our day.

Miller's stories and illustrations capture the reader's attention. Young people will find it engaging reading, and parents, church leaders, and teachers will be grateful for the opportunities this book offers to discuss financial issues with their youth. More info...
