The Reception: Cyndi and Shawn’s rustic DIY wedding
Cyndi and Shawn held a“good ol’ Texas BBQ” at their reception, Cyndi said. And the couple, along with their best man, “brewed two different types of beer for the occasion,” she said. The food and casual décor led to a relaxed evening of chatter and dancing beneath the stars.

The Ceremony: Cyndi and Shawn’s rustic DIY wedding
Cyndi and Shawn craved a “a vintage inspired, outdoor wedding,” the bride told Pretty Little Weddings. They fell in love with Austin’s Three Points Ranch—and its restored air-streams used as bride and groom suites—and began to plan their mostly do-it-yourself wedding. They wed beneath a background of ribbons Cyndi stitched for the occasion, and “my father-in-law was our Officiant, so that was special in and of itself,” Cyndi said. “We stayed pretty traditional with our wedding vows and had them be as short and sweet as possible. We both hate being the center of attention, and actually kind of dreaded the whole standing up in front of people part.”

The Story: Cyndi and Shawn’s rustic DIY wedding
He’d waited two years, but Shawn couldn’t stand to wait another second before asking Cyndi to marry him.“We took a weekend trip to Hawaii’s Big Island,” Cyndi said. “He had big plans to propose to me on a moonlight walk on the beach that night, but he was too excited. He ended up proposing to me as soon as we got to our hotel room!”
