About Jill

Hi guys! My name is Jill and I am a human sparkler, always positive — and full of energy and ideas. Since high school, my personal motto has been “dream bigger.” I have been chasing dreams my whole life, and this project — this new adventure — is no different.

My friends have always insisted that one day I will be a motivational speaker. I used to laugh off the idea, but lately I have started to embrace it. While launching my own business is one large dream I am chasing, this blog embodies another that is just as important to me. Everyone dreams about doing what they love. If reading this blog inspires one person to forget their fears and doubts in the name of pursuing something they are passionate about, it will all be worth it for me.

So what else am I passionate about?

Lots of things! I’ve listed a few below.

  • City life. I have officially been a Chicagoan for 8 months, but have been a city-dweller-at-heart my whole life.
  • Fashion. Before earning a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin, I spent a year and a half in design school. It didn’t take long for me to figure out that I couldn’t draw and wasn’t a big fan of sewing. Instead, I decided to pursue writing and speaking, which I am also passionate about. However, the fashionista in me has never died. I am still giddy about putting together “the perfect outfit” and fully believe in the power of killer stilettos.
  • Being a role model for my baby sisters. Nikki and Chelsea were born when I was 15. They are now eight and already such smart, funny and wonderful little ladies. There is so much I hope to teach them – and am always striving to be a big sister they can be proud of and look up to.
  • Smiling. It is my personal belief that smiling is contagious. Don’t believe me? Smile at a stranger. It will make their day – and yours. Trust me.

Well that’s a little bit about me. It’s only fair that now you tell me a little bit about you. I can’t express how excited I am to hear about your passions and dreams! You’ve officially met your personal cheerleader — minus the high school uniform. Drop me a line anytime at felskaj@gmail.com or connect with me on Twitter (@felska). I look forward to chatting!

About Jenn

spacer

Hola bloggies! I’m Jenn aka Bender and I am known as the eternal optimist. My personal motto is, “everything happens for a reason,” and that mentality helps me live life with absolutely no regrets. I’ve always been the girl who wouldn’t take no for an answer, who is willing to take a risk even when the possibility of success seems…well, impossible.

I firmly believe that we create our own luck and that any achievement in life is due to hard work and determination, not simply being dealt the better hand. My goal with this blog — and my company — is to convey that working toward and for something that you believe in will never actually feel like “work.” Building a career with passion as the foundation is the first step toward lifelong fulfillment.

So what else am I passionate about?

  • Food. I’ve been blogging about my culinary creations and restaurant reviews at Eating Bender for almost two years now and have loved every minute of it. Which leads me to…
  • Writing. To me there is no better sound than the scribble of a pen across paper or the click-clack of fingers typing furiously on a keyboard — as long as they are words you are passionate about.
  • Reading. The satisfaction of flying through a page-turner gives me an energy high. I hope to be able to conjure that feeling for my very own group of readers…someday.
  • Family. My parents, little brother and fiance are my fiercest supporters and biggest loves.

There’s a quick “snapshot” of who I am (I’m also a budding photographer, so expect to see pieces of that passion on the blog, too)! Just like Jill, I would love to know more about who you are and why you decided to pay us a visit. Reading and responding to email is one of the most fulfilling aspects of being a blogger, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a note at jlkorducki@gmail.com. You can also find me on Twitter @jennkrenn (newly updated since I got married on October 16, 2010!). Let’s get the conversation started!

We are excited to learn more about ourselves and our passions by documenting our journey.

To summarize: Don’t wait. Leap!

This is so cool to me! 1) Because I’m such a big fan and friend of you miss Jenn, but I don’t know Jill.. and its nice to get to know her via this blog/business opportunity! 2) I’m a huge believer in careers and business owning as women, and I’m going to be looking forward to reading more about this as I start my own journey to a career. 3) I hope you both are going to BlogHer this year, because I’m already registerd and I am so, so excited!

Actually, we got to thinking about it and there may be one thing we could ask you to do! We’ve submitted ourselves for a BlogHer panel. The polling is now closed but even tweeting @BlogHer and showing your support would mean SO much to us! Here’s a link to where our panel idea is housed: www.blogher.com/gen-y-passionistas-leaving-9-5-start-business-you-love

Just mention @ChiPassionistas and the link — it would truly mean so much! Thank you!
