Antler antics.

I recently stumbled upon these really awesome painted antlers that I absolutely love and, while I wish I could buy an original from Milwaukee-based artist Cassandra Smith, my budget simply won’t allow for it. Sigh.

Alas, I did what any inspired DIY-er would do, I set out to make my own version for a little less moula. I invited a bunch of my friends over to my house to join in the fun and armed with acrylic paint, brushes, artist tape and some antlers we scored off eBay, we got to crafting. Here are some pictures from our craft night. Hope you enjoy! Oh, and be sure to check out Cassandra’s work…she is a really talented artist.

For more on Cassandra, follow her blog, visit her Etsy shop, check out her website or read her magazine.

I love how different all of our antlers turned out! I still think yours and Sarah’s are the best ones!

If they were faux antlers I would feel better about this project.

@Amanda – I totally understand. Of course, many eBay sellers specify that the antlers were naturally shed.

So adorable! I am totally going to be painting some antlers of my own, when I get the chance.

Genius. I repeat, genius. Did you see the bedazzled antlers on Fab last week? Pretty rad stuff, and way out of my price range. Perhaps I need a little DIY as well.
