The same builder had recently told me; "You are one of the best carpenters I've worked with." He had just relocated his log home construction company to Chapel Hill, N.C., USA.
I made one mistake that he wanted me to reimburse him for in making the correction which involved about a total of twelve bricks on three columns. Not being a partner to share in profits or losses, I told him he would pay me for every hour I worked or I'd go to the labor board.
That same night he came to my house to fire me. I asked if he knew how many mistakes I kept his brother from making? Just let me finish the week and I will quit and he agreed.
Monday I was on a new job with a more humane guy and neighborhood friend. Too many employers are selfish in mind-- they want excessive (often greedy) profits at the expense of skill or unskilled workers.
When the trend of USA companies leaving the country for cheaper labor, America has ceased to be a major manufacturer of almost anything. The phrase of becoming an IT tech employment nation ushered in a big decline as we see it today. Shame!
Making products abroad for the citizens of that country is great-- but the intent is to ship back home. So jobs are lost in the millions, who will earn the money to even buy imported goods. This is an abbreviated response but I think the picture is there.
