Lion King exceeds expectations in every way in Dayton
The Dayton engagement of the hit Broadway musical ‘The Lion King’, which closed on Sunday after as four-week run, was a sure fire winner in every way, from ticket sales to boosting the city’s local economy and over-all, by adding more color and vibrancy to the so-called ‘Gem City’.
Lion King alum Adam Jacobs to star in new stage adaptation of ‘Aladdin’
After his successful portrayal of Simba in the touring production of the Disney tour de force and Broadway hit ‘The Lion King’, actor Adam Jacobs will star in another Disney theatrical adaptation, playing the title role in the very first production of ‘Aladdin’ to be staged at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle from July 21 to 31, with previews beginning on July 7.
Lion King Las Vegas welcomes its 1 millionth guest
Just nine weeks after its premiere at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ has just welcomed, seated and entertained its one-millionth guest, in celebration of “Fan Appreciation Month” and a testament of the musical’s power and impact among theatre patrons and families, even in Sin City.
Clifton Oliver Becomes Newest Simba in Broadway’s Lion King
The Lion King, which is currently playing at the Minskoff Theatre, will welcome Clifton Oliver into the cast as Simba. May 7 was the last date Dashaun Young played the role.
Oliver has played the role of Simba before in the Las Vegas production of The Lion King. He has also appeared in both Wicked and In the Heights on Broadway.
Two New Actors Join the Lion King Cast on Broadway
Judah Bellamy will play the part of ‘Young Simba’ while Shaylin Becton will play the part of ‘Young Nala’ in the Broadway staging of Walt Disney’s The Lion King. Their debut will be on March 29, 2011. The two actors are taking over for Joshua J. Jackson and Jade Milan.
The two new actors will alternate performances with Alphonso Romero Jones II who is currently playing the role of ‘Young Simba’ and Khail Toi Bryant who is currently playing the role of ‘Young Nala.’
Lion King Montreal | Place Des Arts
Celebrate the summer heat and welcome the first few leaves of fall when Broadway’s epic safari musical about pride, family and togetherness comes to Montreal to heat things up just in time for the colder months ahead. Lion King will be mounted at the Place Des Arts in Montreal, from August 9 to September 4, 2011. This will be the show’s last Canadian stop this year on its North American tour.
Lion King Ottawa | National Arts Centre
Canadian theatre patrons, especially fans of the hit Broadway musical The Lion King, are in for a special summer treat as Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Rafiki, Nala, Zazu, Mufasa, Scar and all the other creatures in Pride Rock will be heading up north to Ottawa’s National Arts Centre for a two-month engagement, from June 14 to August 7, 2011.

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts in Houston, TX will be housing the month long engagement of the Broadway hit “The Lion King” in summer of 2012, from the 10th of July till the 12th of August.
