About Me

My Background

I’ve always been “artsy”, and my love of drawing and painting in High School took me to Savannah College of Art and Design school where I discovered that being a painter was not a feasible career choice if I wanted to pay my rent, so I chose to pursue the “design” part of my school and became familiar with programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Designing websites started as a hobby when I wanted to make a layout for my blog, so I taught myself (x)HTML and CSS.  Flash forward 6 years and I’ve designed over 250 websites and have extensive knowledge of all the major content management systems, though I’m partial to WordPress.  I’m also a perfectionist who still hand codes everything because code produced from WYSIWYG and HTML editors has been known to make me nauseous. I prefer clean, light and semantic markup.  This means all my clients get fast loading, search engine optimized websites that are beautiful and elegant on the outside as well as under the hood.

My Business

I’m the founder of Swank Web Style Design Studio.  Swank Web Style is a collective of freelancers like myself.  Each of us has a wide range of specialties and by pooling our talents we’re able to offer the best service for all of our clients.  We offer custom web, graphic and print design, for bloggers, professionals and small businesses. My Personal Info and Interests

I live in Virginia with my boyfriend and 2 cats.  In my spare time, I can be found taking pictures or cooking.  My DVR has turned me into quite the obsessive TV watcher, but my brain isn’t totally rotted out, I read a lot of books, too.
