Pillar of Frederick

A mural project showcasing Frederick, Maryland’s rich history

The Pillars of Frederick is a grand scale public arts mural project showcasing the rich history of Frederick, Maryland. The mural, encompassing 175-by-8 feet, depicts 40 of Frederick County’s historic leaders including Francis Scott Key, William T. Delaplaine, and Dr. Ulysses G. Bourne. It now graces the exterior wall of the McCutcheon’s manufacturing plant on South Wisner Street.
The project is the creative vision of artist Yemi Fagbohun and is being independently led with support from the Frederick Arts Council, Great State Publishing, The Tourism Council of Frederick County, Historical Society of Frederick County, and other local business and community leaders.
