From JoAnne... This baby shower was for a local lifetime segment on a local TV show(view video here). I was asked to style an owl theme baby shower for a first time mom to be. We worked with the colors given to me from the hostess that matched her bedding that she had chosen. This cute and woodsy owl themed invitation set the mood for the party!

The hostesses made the refreshments. It was a great display of cheese and crackers, dips and fruit. Simple and delicious. The shower sweets and table design was recorded for the live segment.

The guests enjoyed the day and left with a bag of snickerdoodle popcorn with a tag that read "look whooo's about to POP!"

Love this party from Elissa Stone of One Stone Events! Such a fun theme that could easily translate into the perfect baby shower. Don't you think? Love all the rustic accents + the purple, turquoise and lime color palette. Super chic! Each little detail is beautifully photographed by Darci Woodiwiss.

From Elissa... The theme is ‘Glamping’ (glamorous camping). This party was for a 13 year old girl and I came up with the theme because she’s very active, and she’s girly, but down to earth. She hasn’t had a birthday party in 4 years and her mom wanted to kick the summer off right, so this is a slight twist on an old favorite; camping. The color palette was purple, turquoise and lime.

DESSERT TABLE We spray painted lanterns to match the party’s color palette and hung them from a birch pole over the dessert table. The focal point of the table is the cupcake display, which I had made to look like a campfire, complete with a few logs around the bottom.

I used my late grandmother’s old cast iron skillets (I try to use something of hers at every event I do), wood stumps and grill baskets to add to the camp-y feel, while incorporating pretty glass pieces and colored chargers for the ‘glam’ and delicate side. S’mores pops on real sticks and ‘camp cookies’ were also on the dessert table, as well as m&m’s, gummy ‘bears’ and gourmet chocolate malt balls. My mother always says ‘it’s not a party without m&m’s!’

FOOD On the food table, I lined up cans across the front that we took the labels off, wrapped in ribbon and twine and filled with tater tots. We served mini sliders, pigs in a blanket and fruit skewers as well.

We made a ‘super duper grape drink’, served in canning jars, tied at the top with yarn and polka dot straws, had popcorn in purple lunch bags by the ‘movie area’ (no photos). I used argyle socks to wrap a mason jar to hold the straws and one for forks. The socks also went on the sides of the large letter ‘M’ on the food table.

TENT The focal point of the whole party was the tent we had built, which also served as the photo booth. It was pipe-and-drape with white fabric and the backdrop on the inside was the purple Joel Dewberry Aviary 2 lattice fabric I used throughout the party. There was a chandelier, a white wingback chair, a few tree stumps with lanterns, a cowhide rug and a few ‘deer’ inside. We had purple uplighting in there (and also for the dance floor and dessert table). There was also a trunk with a guitar in it to hold goodies to be donated to the SPCA and a basket of props for the photo booth.

PARTY FAVORS For the girls: a box of s’mores trail mix, topped with custom made lip balm that said ‘keep calm and glamp on’, s’mores scented. This was to match the poster with the same saying on the fireplace. For the boys: we did a box of s’mores trail mix topped with a mini flashlight.

ACTIVITIES There was a mani/pedi station, a “midnight snack” and a s’mores bar as well.”

From Kate Landers...  Here's a personal event–the baby gender reveal party my husband and I hosted for our first little one arriving this fall! I find gender reveal parties to be an excellent creative outlet for all those mamas-to-be who want to design and plan an event to celebrate their very special upcoming arrival. Whether you choose to keep it intimate with just immediate family or large with everyone you know, it is a wonderful time to share your joy with others.

We had a most memorable celebration, revealing to our families that we will be welcoming a little BOY into our lives! Despite a no-show photographer and our pup Henry eating the custom cake less than 2 hours before the party started, we managed to take what came our way and made the best of it–and looking back, I couldn’t imagine it any more perfect. Here are some hints for planning your own baby gender-reveal party:

• Selecting A Theme & Color Scheme A wonderful source of inspiration for your baby gender reveal party is your favorite children’s book. Being in Boston and having a passion for classic storybooks, we selected a “Make Way For Ducklings” based on the beloved book by Robert McClosky. The book made an appearance on the party table with a custom printed bookplate inside and encouragement for the guests to sign a note to build Baby Landers’ library. The color-scheme was kept gender neutral, based on duckling colors of soft yellow, white and hints of brown. Fresh flowers such as pussy willows, peonies, summer stock and hydrangea add a nice touch to bring acolor-scheme to life.

• Incorporate Your Theme With Custom Printed Details From darling mini ice cream carton labels to a custom bookplate, invitations to a charming rosette banner, designer Loralee Lewis custom created spectacular duckling-themed treasures. She even sent a larger print of the artwork for us to frame and put in the
