What We Do

We love designing beautiful experiences.  From the smallest detail to the entire event, we merge our style with our client's personalities to create a work of art entirely special and unique.  We love getting to know our clients and building something for each and every one of them that is truly reflective of their personalities for all of their friends and family to experience.  

Amy Osaba Event.Floral.Design is a full event design house.  We can create your bouquets, design your paper goods, plan your event from top to bottom, or do creative consulting (we love brainstorming!).  While we mostly focus on weddings, we also do workshops, large and small-scale installations, and even interior design from time to time!  Whatever the medium, context, or scale, designing is our passion.  We work with each of our clients to fully understand their vision, using that vision to fully inspire our creative process.  No two events are alike, nor is the creative process.  We are seriously lucky gals to get to work with such inspired clients every single day.  If you don't want your wedding to look like the wedding you attended the weekend before, you've come to the right place.  We're ready to talk design with you!

Our style has been described as having a vintage, organic, handpicked look and feel.  You should know that we are not your traditional flower shop, and we probably won't be using carnations or grocery store roses.  

And don't forget, we also love to travel!

    :: Creative Director.  When I was little I used to play with all the flowers in the fields at my grandmother's daylily farm in Arkansas.  She was one of those strong salt-of-the-earth kind of women, and I always wanted to be like her.  Of course she passed down a love of flowers and art to my mother who in turn gave me the bug.  I am one lucky gal that comes from a good line of strong, earthy women.  Once upon a time I was a ballet dancer.  I think that dance has made its way into what I do now.  I love how ranunculus dance above the other flowers and how a coral charm has its own perfect, papery balance.  Flowers have their own sense of movement that makes me happy.  Erica and I are always talking about the movement of an arrangement or installation.  This is so interesting because her background is in Architecture which has its own set of rules to balance and movement. It was meant to be.  My favorite thing about the wedding process is seeing the bride's face when she sees her vision come together.  I know it sounds corny, but it truly is gratifying to fulfill wishes.  I get to spend my days with three spirited, devilishly handsome boys who never cease to amaze and teach me.  And I get to do something that I truly love that feeds my artistic outlet.  Sometimes I cannot even believe that this is what I do for a living.  And for that I will always be grateful to have found this path.  To be surrounded by such incredibly talented women who happen to be seriously fabulous at what they do as well as good friends is, well, a gift.  I am constantly learning and growing from Erica and Maria.  Their vision and energy has brought me through so much, and I am excited to see where our collaborations take us!  photo by Chelsea Patricia

  • Erica Loesing

    :: Art Director.  I have had a love affair with art + design for as long as I can remember.  I love what I do because I get to do all of it, from designing paper goods, to building backdrops, to detailing a building.  I get to spend my days crafting and making people's weddings an entire experience so uniquely them.  I guess I'm kind of a visual storyteller, and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love that the design principles I learned in architecture school are the same ones I immediately saw in Amy's flowers, and I loved that the medium was so different.  Then the collaboration began, and it continues to grow (exciting things coming soon!).  While I do spend a lot of time working on flowers, my place is really in the making of things: installations, building things, crafting, and as the girls will say, being 'systems engineer,' figuring out the best way to execute whatever it is we seem to be doing.  My favorite part of the process is not only the making but truly the brainstorming.  I love getting inspired by a client's vision and seeing where the creative process takes us, no two exactly alike.  Then getting to take that process all the way to the wedding or event when you get to see people experiencing and interacting with the design.  This love began with designing my own wedding, which was really just an extension of architectural principles I whole-heartedly believe in.  I have the pleasure of working with girls who continue to inspire me and make my job, well, never feel like a job.  In October of 2009 I married my love Chet.  We have now grown our family to four members, including our two dogs Mies and Fitz.  A few of my favorite things are cuddling with my dogs, scarves, hot tea (or wine, depending on the day), Instagram, yoga, cooking + baking, gardening, working on our house, and whoopee pies. photo by Heidi Geldhauser, Our Labor of Love

  • Maria Taylor

    :: Office Manager, Designer.  While working as a wedding planner, I found myself longing to play a bigger role in the creative side of weddings.  With a background in performance and a lifelong love of art and design, I soon discovered a connection to and a knack for floral design, and sought out Amy as a teacher, someone I had long admired from afar.  Her appreciation of the wild beauty and movement of flowers resonated with me, and I have since not only learned a ton, but have also begun to find my own voice in the event design world.  I also work as the company's Office Manager, and I enjoy the balance of creative and operational outlets.  My favorite part of the creative process is being able to work with my hands.  Simple really, but it is incredibly energizing and gratifying.  Working alongside inspiring women that I also call friends is pretty great, too.  I love my yellow Schwinn bicycle, exploring the city, thrifting, and good conversations over good coffee.  The loves of my life are my husband [and high school sweetheart] Joe, our five pound shih tzu Coco, and our first little one on the way (!).  photo by Heidi Geldhauser, Our Labor of Love
