A Glimpse of Me

I have mentioned in my posts that Schenker is into music. He seems to be enjoying his piano lessons a lot, so we are so thankful that there is a budding musician in the family. Hubby and I are very supportive of his desire to learn other musical instruments in the future.

We are not sure what type of music he really likes in particular. For now he is stuck with his piano pieces, which I think is a good foundation. Of course he can always explore on his music as he grows older. I won’t even mind if he plays the electric guitar with a fuzz factory. Some parents are not that comfortable that their kids play rock music, but if that’s how he expresses his love for the art, then why not?

By now malls are already decorated with Valentine decors. Wow, the day of hearts is just around the corner! Where has time gone? I was just getting over our long break for the Chinese New Year holiday and now I should start looking for a Valentine present for dear hubby.

We don’t normally exchange gifts during Valentine’s that much, but I am quietly wishing he is going to surprise me with something! I am looking into mens dress boots —there are so many designs it’s hard to settle with just a pair!

I still have 2 weeks to decide on a perfect present, anyway… so I guess I could take my time.

How time flies. A month ago malls were beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and trees and Christmas carols can be heard in homes and shops. Everyone was into shopping for Christmas gifts but the holidays were over before we even knew it. Now everything’s decorated with red for the Chinese New Year. Soon, it will be Valentine ’s Day again!

I am sure fancy restaurants would again be filled with lovers on date… and roses would be super expensive as the day draws near! Hubby and I do not celebrate Valentine’s that much although a nice dinner would be nice. I am not expecting any valentines day gifts, either but I would definitely not say “no” if he gives me one!

One of the things that’s different now that I am working is that I get to meet new people on a daily basis. Of course I also get that opportunity when I go on trips with hubby, but trips like those do not happen everyday, right? I should remind myself to get one of those clear business cards to give my new friends.

I never realized the importance of having those cards until someone would ask for my contact details. I would end up groping for a pen and paper from my bag and write my phone or email addresses. So, those cards top my list of things to do right now… and honestly, the list getting longer by the day!

Posting photos on my blogs or in my facebook account and getting great feedbacks from friends sure are inspiring. Of course there is nothing like having an experienced mentor and get praises from him as well. I am really hoping for more photo shoots this year.

So far I have taken photos only of personal friends, our trips and some special events, but have not been an official photographer for a wedding yet. I would be thrilled if I would have that opportunity! Weddings are always special, so it would be an honor to be a photographer for two people about to enter into another chapter of their lives as married couple.

I still cherish our wedding photos up to now, so I know how important it is to have a good photographer. Speaking of weddings, I still smile to myself whenever I remember how he proposed to me. It was not on video, so it could not be shown on youtube but if it was, it would have gone viral! Hubby creatively proposed to me over dinner—he did not give me one of those steel rings, but it was beautiful just the same… and I am so glad I said “yes” to him that night!
