Resonance

spacer Releasing heart worship

Men and women are often first impacted by the message of Jesus in song, story, art or drama. Then they want to talk about it. Musicians and other artists are a vital part of reaching people, planting churches and inspiring vision for cross-cultural mission. Some of the most potent ways to share and celebrate the gospel are through creative means.

WEC’s Resonance team want to see believers from unreached people groups released to use the music and arts with the greatest resonance in their own cultural context, for powerful gospel communication, life-transforming discipleship and liberating worship. Their worship band combines styles and music tastes from all over the world to create a vibrant multicultural sound.

spacer The team also run worship workshops and short-term Treks overseas

Multicultural worship workshops

Workshops focus on how ethnically diverse congregations can worship together, using music that better represents members and visitors. Lively discussions mingle with learning praise songs from various nations to take back to your church or group.

Mission Treks for musicians

to Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe
Length, nature and costs vary ― generally for 5 weeks or more. 2012 opportunities

Music interns first attend shortterm orientation, then two weeks of specialist cross-cultural music training, before making any field trip. Qualifications are a passion for sharing the gospel with the least reached peoples and a recognized level of musical competence. For some trips, a music degree may be required.

Previous interns have written:

'I fell in love with the people and their music. In fact I am still in touch with many of them and I have a new release of creativity in me as well. Praise God!'
'All of us on the team were amazed and delighted at the birth of this song ― possibly the first Christian worship song in Kui.'
'Each group was passionately singing, writing and discussing as they were released into new musical creativity and freedom!'

What can Resonance interns do?

Abroad: learning other musics, surveys, workshops, worship leading and training, notation.
In the UK: song translation, notation and recording, teaching in workshops, composing, leading worship using multi-cultural songs.
Non-music specialists: Our present focus is on music, but we hope to expand into other oral and performing arts – if this is you please inquire!
Techies are also needed – recording, producing, web and IT.
