January 28th, 2011 under Top Stories

OJINAGA, MEXICO – The body of a 53-year-old man was found Sunday night after police received an anonymous phone call to the emergency number.

The body was identified as Carlos Lares Polanco.

Several residents of the CDP neighborhood reported to the city police that a crime had taken place on 34th Street, between Rojas Domínguez and Bolívar.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers found the body. They then cordoned off the area and covered the body of Lares Polanco with a blanket. The officers then called officials from the Public Ministry and other experts to take over the investigation of the crime, another deplorable episode that has struck the city of Ojinaga.

Lares Polanco received various 223-caliber bullet wounds that put an end to his life. Twenty-four bullet casings were found at the crime scene. According to the Attorney General´s Office, Lares Polanco walked out of his home upon hearing what sounded like a fight outside his home and was then shot repeatedly. The crime took place last Sunday at 10:40 p.m.
