Collabora software on Intel Platform

Collabora has a long history developing and optimizing for Intel platforms. Many of the core technologies where Collabora is leading development, like GStreamer and Telepathy, started out on Intel platforms. Collabora has been working on improving the performance and featureset of many core linux technologies used on Intel platform, including working with Intel technologies such as IPP and libva, to create great multimedia applications and systems. Together with the Intel's Open Source Technology Center (OTC) we have worked on Intel hardware in numerous form factors including netbooks and embedded devices, contributing to a wide range of the technologies used in those distributions. When it comes to productizing a Linux solution on Intel platform you find no better business partner than Collabora. We hope to speak with you during IDF this year to tell you more about the services we can provide you and how we can make your products stand out in the marketplace.

Mobile editing

Strong multimedia capabilities has become a necessity to compete in todays market. At Collabora we have been developing advanced multimedia applications for a long time. One thing more and more consumers expect from their devices is support for basic video editing, from simple cutting of a smartphone recorded video to concatenating together multiple video files into fantastic movie collages. At IDF 2011 we will demonstrate a touch based video editing application built on top of our GStreamer Editing Services technology, which shows how easily and quickly you can put together a powerful editing application capable of running on Intel systems such tablets, netbooks and smartphones. A unique feature of the GStreamer Editing Services framework is its capability to do non-destructive editing, which not only improves quality of the edited work, but greatly reduce resource usage.

Talking over the phone is no longer enough. Easy to use Video conferencing is becoming a must have feature for a wide range of devices and services. Collabora has developed the open source Telepathy framework which makes creating video conferencing applications, supporting any major service or protocol, an easy task. As a proof of concept we have integrated Telepathy into Intel's new Media Explorer media center software. This will showcase how you can integrate a wide range of video conferencing partners in your devices using out video conferencing technology, including Google Talk and Skype.
