About Bob

speaker | teacher | innovator | fan of non-geek | social media freak | animal lover | loves to laugh, often at himself

spacer I love teaching, training and supporting WordPress users. In addition to my workshops, which are listed and described on this site, I do lots of online, one-on-one WordPress coaching, as well as online training and webinars.

I have turned my 20 years of marketing, graphic design and website development experience into my passion for WordPress.

The best way to describe my WordPress workshops, presentations and webinars is that they are “non-geeky.” I keep things simple and straight forward. I’m not here to impress you with lines of coding that you cannot understand.

And I will not promise that you will have a WordPress site up in just a few hours. Because that just bothers me to mislead people like that. It is entirely possible to create the site you want, but not in two hours.

Besides everything you see that I do on this site, I also blog and am part of the team at For Bloggers by Bloggers, which was chosen one of the Top 50 Social Media Blogs of 2011. I am active in the Seattle WordPress Meetup, organizer of Seattle WordCamp 2012, and try to make as many other WordCamps as I can.

So, yes, it’s true. I live and breathe WordPress.

Oh, and one more thing. I actually do have a life outside WordPress. Here are a few things you might not know about me:

I love any movie that Christopher Guest produces, from Spinal Tap to For Your Consideration.

I make the best veggie pizza on the planet.

I learned most of my life lessons from Curly of the Three Stooges.

I can never get enough of Monty Python or Fawlty Towers.

Most people don’t believe I’m an introvert. Only a few years ago my stomach would get tied up in a double knot at the thought of speaking to even 10 people.

I’m not a big fan of todays TV shows but will often read a crime fiction or horror novel in two nights.

My road to being an entrepreneur started with a job driving an ice cream truck, you know, the kind with that irritating, make-it-stop music.

I cherish all living creatures, and find it hard to kill even a nasty-looking spider.

I bartended in the days of “Harvey Wallbangers” and “Rusty Nails”.

I believe the glass is half full.
