how hard is it to lose weight?

February 22nd 2009 12:22
oh dear! to a person who's really used to eating food after food, one with not one bit of discipline inside him, and he who just don't have that wonderful figure, it is hell just trying to lose weight. I mean, *duhh..*, our favorite delights we could not just forget.

But hey, if delights are we're really after, then there is a way to perhaps lose a little weight. Here are some guidelines (one that i made myself) to lose weight little by little without straying from our favorite goodies.

1. Prefer CRACKERS instead of CHIPS. Crackers has lesser grams of fat and it is a source of carbohydrates so you'll surely feel full after eating it rather then when eating chips. To give it a little twist, accompany it with some Cottage Cheese so it won't be boring eating it.

2. CEREALS. When you eat them just as they are, you'll realize that you're just like eating junk food but a HEALTHIER one. So go for it!

3. Don't skip a meal. Statistics show that there is a larger percentage of "gainers" than "losers" of weight when skipping a meal.

4. Bread = lesser calorie than rice but is a good source of carbohydrates. So instead of rice, go for bread.

5. Eat Oatmeal. Oats are good for digestion.

6. Say NO to sodas and too much coffee! Juice, milk, and water - they are better for your health; better in taste too!

7. Always accompany your meal with any berry-fruit. They are good antioxidants. (info from my elder sister)

so how to deal with losing weight? The key is DISCIPLINE. Surely you'll fall for fatty foods still. But a friendly suggestion: TAME THY SELF. You can do it!

do you eat cereals with milk?

Have you ever eaten cereals without milk? I usually do such thing. Since it is not really a thing to my race to regularly or commonly eat cereals during breakfast, we could just do anything to them.

HONEY GOLD. It is one of my favorite cereals. But instead of eating them with milk during breakfast, I tend to eat it just as it is; just like a snack. Well, it is yummy anyway.

Another thing I do with Honey Gold is use it as a major ingredient when I bake muffins. With the use of some other major ingredients like melted unsweetened chocolate, I create my "Choco- Honey Muffin" with Honey Gold flakes joint with the rest of the chocolate and dough. Really good!

And if you lose ideas to add that missing sweetness in a dish, say for example, beef and beans with oyster sauce, add up Honey Gold with it as a special ingredient and surely it will accompany your yummy dish with another delicious hype.

Sometimes I really want experimenting with stuff most especially with foods. It is very helpful when you have an eye for 'limited resources'. Through such an experiment, you unleash that creative side of yours!

Why Packed Lunches? - Have your say.

February 9th 2009 12:46
This morning, I decided to pack a lunch meal. Probably because of the rush and the saving-of-money stuff, but I really don't know why I did that.

Until sooner, I realized that i didn't really save money at all. Having a packed lunch at hand just gave me more reasons to spend, spend and again... SPEND. I became more aware that i have more money to buy absolutely more.

But why packed lunches? probably to some, it would be an easy question. to me it isn't because either way, i lose. hahaha!

Sometimes it hit me that whenever i pack a lunch meal i became more of an organized person. I learn to have the spaces in my bag occupied and occupy it in an organized manner.

I also think that doing such things gives me more reasons to appreciate home. Most especially the food my mom or our helper cook. Many people do not realize that and take home-made cuisines for granted. But I come across it, and realized, that I'm just like a glimpse away from home when I eat packed lunch at school.

Perhaps, I am alone on thinking of such things. But hey, this is my blog, people. It's just that, in my opinion, home-made food go unnoticed at this point in time and the restaurant courses are more appreciated when in fact you can save more when you try to please your taste as you do it on your own.

Don't you think?

So why packed lunches?

Go ahead and have your say.

splurge out!

February 8th 2009 12:31
the good about food is that it never rans out. The good about a wide-taster on the other hand is that he can eat and appreciate all foods of different tastes. well, yeah, you already know that.
when was the last time i splurged out, i can still remember. i tend to pig-out when i really have a good budget and i've been really tired or hungry from something. i can't stand stress and yes, food is my solution.
but there are times that there are just no intentional reasons to pig-out, but you have to. one of these times in my life is my dad's birthday

the most important meal of the day

TAPSILOG - Tapa, Sinangag, Itlog (Beef Tapa, Fried Rice and Egg)

i should say that i am a good example of a person who's always skipping the most important meal of the day. Unintentionally, i leave my breakfast plate unnoticed just because i needed to go to school right away. i did this since high school or probably even during half of my grade school years.

Why dip?

September 19th 2008 15:13
I began wondering why it became a nature of humans to look for a dip on any food they get their hands on. Snacks, meat, even soups have corresponding sauces or dips, but why?

Mee Sua

September 16th 2008 13:29
It's been like everyday that my mom served this Chinese noodle soup at home alongside to every fried viand she cooks. My mom used to tell me that aside from ice cream, she's been eating a lot of this kind of noodles during her pregnancy with me. But even though, I merely have eaten them during my childhood. It was just recently that I've tasted it for myself, for real.

Mee Sua or miswa is a Chinese noodle. It is very thin and very soft when cooked. It's been eaten for several Asian countries like China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and of course the Philippines

YEMA

September 3rd 2008 12:08
YEMA. Again, another Filipino delicacy. This is a sweet pastry made out of peanuts. Simply made by grinding the peanuts resulting to the creamy appearance of it(it's because of the oil that the peanut itself acquires) and then mixed with proper amount of condensed milk. Letting it dry, there you have your Yema.

This afternoon, I invited my best friends over at my place for some great time. We bought this very inviting Yema Roll at a Shopwise Grocery near our previous destination. Yeah, inviting. Sometimes, the physicalk presentation of such food really entices me to eat them right away

Caramel Pastillas Sundae

September 2nd 2008 09:47
KICKBACK. This is the term I call the money I get from my Dad when I come to visit them in their place. That don't usually happen because I live in my mom's place. Anyway, when there is kickback, I tend to treat my classmates out to lunch or meryenda(snack time).

Yesterday, I treated my friends in the nearest Jolibee Restaurant (which is, duhh.. beside one of the university's gate.). I chose to eat their sweet Caramel Pastillas Sundae.
