This week Sjors has a new 50Gs article for us on the GDF-100-4DR G-Shock. This bright red watch is a brand new model that Casio released in 2011. It features an altimeter/barometer along with a thermometer. The lopsided design is reminiscent of the 9200 Riseman, but there's plenty to set this one apart. There's three other colors to choose from so far, and maybe many more in the future. It will be interesting to see how this new line of G-Shocks develops.

Casio Japan has announced eight new G-Shock models for release in February 2012. There's two new Metallic Dial series DW-6900 models, two AWG-M100 models and four new Sky Cockpit GW-4000 G-Shocks. The 6900s will likely be released world-wide. We will have to wait and see which watches will be released as export versions outside of Japan. See any you like?

Sjors has featured the MR-G model MRG-110-7 G-Shock this week on 50Gs. This metal G-Shock was released by Casio back in 1996. It's part of a series of digital MR-G watches released around this time. Casio has not released an all-digital MR-G model in quite a few years. They are now all analog. It would be nice if this classic styling would be brought back for some new G-Shock designs. Casio America has just released an updated gshock.com website. There's a new interface and some new content that you can browse through. The layout is now more friendly for widescreen monitors, there's an improved video section, new navigation for watches (added next arrows as well as series variations right on each model's page), more detailed information on highlighted watch collections (such as Aviation and Master of G), and a new life section (photo galleries, more videos, events and ambassadors). And coming soon will be different watch views and how-to videos on certain models. Check it out.
