Cornell University - Regulation Room

Regulation Room is designed and operated by the Cornell e-Rulemaking Initiative (CeRI) and hosted by the Legal Information Institute (LII). The site is a pilot project that provides an online environment for people and groups to learn about, discuss, and react to selected rules(regulations) proposed by federal agencies. It expands the types of public input available to agencies in the rulemaking process, while serving as a teaching and research platform.

New York Public Library - Candide 2.0

The New York Public Library currently serves up thousands of ebooks to its patrons, but in highly controlled, DRM-encrypted editions.The Candide 2.0 experiment gestures toward a more open idea of the electronic book: a public book for a public library. One can imagine numerous service models emerging down the road: hosted social editions for scholarly communities and groups of researchers; digital classroom texts where students can read and comment in a single shared "copy" of the book; virtual book discussion groups led by librarian-moderators.

Looking for Whitman

Looking for Whitman project engages classes at four academic institutions–New York City College of Technology (CUNY), New York University, University of Mary Washington, and Rutgers University-Camden–in a concurrent, connected, semester-long inquiry into the relationship of Whitman’s poetry to local geography and history. The project is funded by NEH Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Trinity College - On the Line

On the Line tells the story of schooling and housing boundaries that have divided metropolitan Hartford, Connecticut over time, and the civil rights activists who have struggled to cross over, redraw, or erase these lines.

The project is a collaboration of historians, geographers, librarians, students, and technology specialists at Trinity College, University of Connecticut Libraries Map and Geographic Information Center and is supported by a digital humanities fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
