About Us

Beginning with a single Kindergarten class in a church basement in 1981, Minnesota Waldorf School has grown to a full grade school, comprised of grades one through eight, three mixed-age kindergartens and parent-tot classes. We are easily accessible from all parts of the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

We value the critical link between inspiration and education. Music, movement, foreign language, handwork and art are thoughtfully integrated with a strong core of humanities, math and sciences.

Our classrooms and teachers offer a warm, nurturing environment that allows children’s capacities to unfold and grow, naturally. Our students rise to the challenges of learning with a sense of discovery and curiosity. Whenever possible, teachers remain with the same class from 1st through 8th grade, allowing for growth and a deepening of the class community.

Our students come from a variety of social, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds. Minnesota Waldorf School is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, supported by tuition, contributions and voluntary efforts of parents and friends of the school. Minnesota Waldorf School is an accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America, as well as AdvancED.

Minnesota Waldorf School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, ability, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, nationality or ethnic origin.
