Welcome to Correr Es Mi Destino!

I started blogging in 2006 after I became a permanent resident of Canada. Originally, I wanted to share pictures and some information about living in an English-speaking province since most French seemed to head straight to Quebec. My first few articles were in French but I soon switched to English to embrace life in Ontario. I didn’t speak much English when I first came here and I thought writing in that language would be a good exercise.

Back then, I didn’t know anything about blogging. I taught myself some basic coding to tweak the blog’s layout and eventually moved from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress blog in 2007.

Little by little, as I adapted to Canada, the blog evolved and grew much bigger but my favourite topics remained life in Canada, the immigration process, photography and travels.

The blog was named after a Manu Chao song I love, Clandestino:

¡ Solo voy con mi pena !

¡ Sola va mi condena !

Correr es mi destino,

Para burlar la ley
