spacer Fat Tire Crit

Whistler Village will see the return of classic criterium racing – but this time only for the fat tire crowd. This “Open Pro” event for men and women will have an edge of Nascar drafting, bumping and grinding, setting the tone for the upcoming week of high-speed action at Kokanee Crankworx. It’s an amazing spectator friendly race event set on an 800-meter loop around Whistler Olympic Plaza with the riders constantly passing by the crowd and jockeying for position for the final sprint to the line. Riders will be forced to push hard from start to finish with the “Miss & Out” format will see those trailing the field pulled off the course.

spacer Dual Slalom

In the longstanding tradition of you versus me, side by side, the clock our eternal enemy, the Dual Slalom pitches amateurs and pros alike down a wicked blazer of a finely sculpted track as it races beside the Boneyard Slopestyle course. The action runs all day, and only gets more heated as the sun goes down.

spacer Canadian Open DH

A mixture of steep rock faces, tight treed sections, and huge road-gapping airs combined with a fanatical mob on “Heckler’s Rock” make this one of the premiere downhill race events in the world.

spacer Garbanzo Downhill

It starts way up in the stratosphere, where giant old-growth firs wrap the forest floor with anaconda-thick root systems, whistling down forever over super steep slickrock, banging off stunts and natural hits along the way before opening it up rocket style to the finish. 3,400 vertical of arm pumping, finger cramping, non-relenting downwardness.

spacer Deep Summer Photo Challenge

Six renowned invited photographers will choose the Crankworx competitor of their choice and shoot reams of Bike Park action over a set number of days. The challenge is to compile a slide show to impress a judging panel and the spectators at the big finale.

spacer Jeep Air Downhill

Imagine a herd of gazelle hopping through the Serengeti with a pride of lions in pursuit. Drop it into the forest and ramp up speed and style and you’ve got one of the wildest downhill races on the planet. 100 jumps, just as many berms and tail whipping samurai like Brian Lopes skipping to victory.

spacer Ultimate Pump Track Challenge presented by Rock Shox

It's all about speed, flow and flair. The event is open to the first 60 pro men and 25 pro women who register. A time trial event will establish a finals field of 32 men and 8 women. The finals will be the ultimate "mano-a-mano" battle with a bell ring and knuckle-knock start, riders will drop chasing each other on a 25-second course chock full of berms, doubles and gaps. We'll have a $500 cash grab pot for the best antics dropped randomly through the night plus the winning male and female will each go home with $1000 cash.

spacer Teva Best Trick Showdown

Riders bring out their best tricks including double tailwhips, 720’s, flipwhips, and 360 lookbacks. A mouthful? Sure. But wait until you see it. With 25 of the world’s best slopestyle riders invited to participate, and a rider judged two-line jam format, the Teva Best Trick Showdown has but one purpose: drive riders to bend the known universe of mountain bike possibility.

spacer Giant Slalom

Located in the Boneyard zone of the Whistler Bike Park, competitors can expect a course that encompasses flowing yet technical riding that will test the full skill set of the riders.

spacer Red Bull Joyride

Prepare for Red Bull Joyride, fusing elements of slopestyle, dirt jump and North Shore mountain biking. Joyride will culminate into one gravity-fed, season-defining freeride mountain bike competition. The course, which is 100 per cent inspired and designed by professional mountain bike athletes, incorporates as much of the natural terrain as possible, lined with gargantuan man-made features.

spacer Canadian Open Enduro presented by Kona

It’s all about endurance and speed. It’s the ultimate all-mountain challenge; a growing genre of downhill racing that pits cardio and strength against nerve and skill—the fitness of a cross-country racer all hopped up with a major dose of speed. This mass start event separates riders with a climb to the start of the first downhill section. From there on, riders are timed on the downhill sections, with time limits to climb to the next downhill start.

spacer Canadian Cheese Rolling Championships

The only official non-biking event is another gravity fed experience, back for its 4th year! This UK-style, century old tradition has contestants running and tripping down a mountain chasing an 11-pound cheese wheel to win the cheese (and Whistler Blackcomb season passes)

Access the site via the Excalibur Gondola in the Whistler Village Skier’s Plaza to watch or compete in the hilarious races, sample Canadian cheeses at the farmers’ market and chill out as the kids let off some steam with plenty of entertainment. FREE event.
